Two olx female staff been calling me about physical verifying of my tecno j7 but am scared this might be scam. ..no email about physical verification. ... i also been selling on olx for 3yrs now ...my ad is active on olx before they contact me.....because they might rob me and take the phone...no official office phone number. ..they call as normal phone buyer which i thought they might be one . ........or should i allow them

Looks like a good move, but I don't think this will work. There are far too many sellers. How many staff does olx have? How many items can they seriously inspect? This is an open online marketplace just like Craigslist, there are bound to be scammers, they only need to tighten thier site securities. Let moderators block adverts of obvious scammers. For example someone selling a 2012 car for 300k, its is definitely a scam even though they claim its custom seized cars. Those adverts should be blocked right away, no need for verification.

Olx is not like Konga or jumia where they monitor payment, as in customers pay Konga or jumia who in turn pay sellers once product is received. Olx is an open market, buyer and seller are on their own, so buyers need to cautious.

Scamers can never be 100% eradicated, but Blv me, this will reduce the rate at which ppl scam
Some ppl don't actually have d product they wanna sell, they just tell people to make half payment and get it delivered to them

The naive buyers pay half d amt waiting for ever for a never coming delivery
