I saw this somewhere and I decided to share with my fellow Africans...

A MUST READ FOR AFRICANS!

Many people are wondering why the focus is on Paris attacks and everyone is silent when Lebanon or Nigeria was attacked. Well, the answer is simple:
France is a great power with tremendous influence.
France is not Lebanon or Nigeria. In the world, there is a pecking order whether you like it or not. To start with, France receives more tourists than any other national on earth annually, over 83 million people. How many tourists visit Nigeria per year? Is our country globally important like France which is the fourth wealthiest nation in the world? Why Obama is responding because France was attacked? Are you for real?
That is one. Two. Some people are shouting that all
lives matter. But are we sincere with ourselves?
Where is a human being more likely to be mobbed to death? Paris or Oshodi? Life is more valued in
Marseille than in Makurdi which is why the
responses are different. Some Nigerians are even so callous as to say no Chibok girl was missing. Or they will tell you it is good a thief was beaten to death. Life Is of no value here. Highest is they will type RIP and finish. No outrage over the ALUU boys for example. Fulani cattle herders are slaughtering Nigerians all over the country but what are Nigerians sharing on their timelines? If you raise the issue, they tell you to shut up and not blame the president. Everyone is acting deaf and dumb, waiting for the BBC to come and cover the millions of homeless kids on our streets. What of the mentally-challenged on the streets? We don't give a damn. Some Nigerians even believe they deserve it. Our societies don't value lives and human dignity the same way. How many dead French citizens from the attack have you seen in the media exposed? None. But if it is Nyanya bombings now, you will see people sharing all sorts of gory Images. We are not ready yet.
Three. The media. Agence France-Presse is the 3rd
largest news media agency on earth and it is located right there in Paris. So which news do you expect them to focus on? Yours or theirs? Why should we wait for outsiders to tell our stories to the world?
Why is NTA not like Reuters? Why are Africans not
having a global media outfit to tell African stories to
the globe like Al Jazeera is doing for the Arab world?
It is very funny of anyone to ask why the world is not outraged over Nigerians killed daily. Why should the world be outraged when our own people don't even care? Ohun tonigba ba pe igba re lama ba pe. No one will tell your stories for you. Africans should wake up, build global empires and stop whining. This is a new world order. You earn respect with what you can do with your brains, not by shouting. That said, when are we going to stop using French brands like Peugeot, Renault or even champagne that we Nigerians spend billions on annually instead of rebranding our own palm wine for the world? What of Chanel and L'Oreal products? Na we top chart. Even our presidential jets are bought from France. It looks like we have no idea of how dependent we are on nations like France. When are we going to start using our brains to manufacture things and become a great and influential power? Go to Brazil, they are
already exporting their own planes and Embraer
private jets. The West is bad, the West is sinful and
evil yet religious Africans want to die there. Who is
deceiving who? The world owes you nothing. If you
want something, you go get it.
