South South Igbos Are Not Aware Of SS/ND Republic by explorer250(m): 11:09am On Nov 16, 2015 |
In the events of recent happenings and in the continued quest of the FGN deploying propaganda with the help of our neighbours and "selfish" leaders to balkanise, brain wash and exploit igbo land especially we in the south south region of the country as a result of the ongoing agitation for "biafra"(though i am not a strong supporter) I want to categorically say that we igbos in ss and niger delta at large are not aware of any ss or niger delta republic. We constitute the majority of south south and niger delta and therefore we will decide what happens to the region. We currently have two governors in the ss. WE ARE NOT AWARE OF, AND ARE NOT INTO ALLIANCE WITH ANY SS OR ND REPUBLIC. ANYBODY OR GROUP OF PERSONS THAT ARE INTERESTED IN SUCH SHOULD NEGOTIATE WITH OUR UNBRELLA AND PAN IGBO BODY "OHANEZE NDI IGBO" Anything contrary to this amounts to hostility, hidden and ulterior agenda and most epecially an insult to sensibility. We might be in the south south but wr know our identity and ethnicity. Pls only south south igbos and uland igbos are required to comment on this thread. Please my brothers come in and share your views 17 Likes 3 Shares |

Niger Delta republic aka Ijaw republic. Nigerian Political Niger Delta comprise Imo, Abia and Anambra too. SS is a wrong term more or less SS republic. Ijaw is a tribe known and can be a nation of its own if they want too. Obasanjo in his typical yoruba state of mind decided to divide Igbos to see them not united but he and his connies have failed. 11 Likes |

We Igbos in Delta have said times without number that we are part Biafra and not any Niger Delta republic bullsh1t BELOW ARE FROM THE THREAD I CREATED. I have been following with disgust the numerous fallacious threads created by Yorubas and Hausa senseless bigots trying to cause division between we the Igbos on the western part of river Niger and our brothers in the eastern part of the river Niger. It is obvious you people are completely ignorant of our history and relationships with the eastern Igbos. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT MANY OF OUR ANCESTORS MIGRATED FROM THE EAST AND HAVE STRONG RELATIONSHIP THE EASTERN IGBOS. Below are some Anioma towns and their place of origin: Asaba migrated from Awka and Nteje Anambra State Igbuzo migrated from Isu Imo State and Nri Anambra State Ogwashi ukwu migrated from Nri Anambra State Okpanam migrated from Anam, Oba Anambra State and Anioma Ogboli migrated from Nri Anambra State Ishiagu migrated from Awka Anambra State Abah migrated from Nri Illah migrated from Anam and Nri, Anambra State Ejeme migrated from Nri Anambra State Ewulu migrated from Anam Anambra State Ute Okpu migrated from Nri Anambra State Owa founded by Odogwu and his brother Ozomo who migrated from Nri Akwukwu migrated from Nri Anambra State. Akwukwu Igbo migrated from Nri Anambra State etc The above are just few examples of Anioma towns that migrated from the East of the Niger. Many Anioma sons played prominent roles in the biafra war, some of them are Major General Onwuatuegwu from Ogwashi Ukwu who was the head of Biafran Defence Headquarters, Major General Madiebo who commanded the Biafran Owerri division, Col Joe Achusia from Asaba who headed the western Biafran brigade, Brigedier General Okonjo from Ogwashi Ukwu, Col Nwadei, Capt Anuku from Owa, Ika who was Head of Biafran Navy, Major Kaduna Nzeogwu from Okpanam who led the battalion in Nsukka etc. Western Igbo will always be part of Biafra. The babaric federal troops committed war crimes in different towns of Anioma killing innocent men and women as well as raping some ladies. The Anioma nations will not forget the atrocities committed by the weak and shameless Northern and yoruba soldiers in Agbor, Ogwashi Ukwu, Asaba, Okpanam, Issele Ukwu, Onicha Ugbo, Igbuzo, Ndokwa, Ukwuani and many Anioma towns although many of them met their shameful death in the hands of gallant and brillant biafran soidiers. LET ME MAKE IT CLEAR TO ALL YORUBA AND NORTHERN SHAMELESS M0RONS THAT SHOULD BIAFRA BECOME A REALITY, THE ANIOMAS WOULD BE PART OF IT BECAUSE WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PART OF IT. WE CANNOT BE DECEIVED BY YOUR BIGOTRY PROPELLED PROPAGANDA. 16 Likes 1 Share |

cheruv: The chairman of the lecture, Obi Edozien, re-emphasised this point: “We Igbo people are one. We must stop fighting over irrelevancies and emphasise the essential.” Given this situation, there has been an increasing shift of paradigm. Many Igbo groups, especially in Delta state, have decided no longer to play the masquerade. The Obi of Asaba, Professor Edozien, actually laid out conditions he believes will cement Igbo unity permanently. Obi Edozien then called on the people of the South-East zone to support the creation of Anioma state and another for Igbo-speaking people of Rivers state to make for seven states, all of which will be lumped together in one zone or region. https://www.nairaland.com/2515691/anioma-state-best-choice-ndigbo 5 Likes |

ALTHOUGH there were varied positions on the matter, in the end the General Sani Abacha administration created Bayelsa out of Rivers State in 1996” The circumstances behind my joining a delegation for the burial of His Royal Majesty, Sunday Nnanta Woluchem, the Epara Rebisi XI of Port Harcourt on Saturday, April 21, 2012 is encapsulated in the above quote taken from his burial programme. As the author of his yet to be published biography, former Chief of General Staff, retired Commodore Okoh ebitu ukiwe, asked me to join his delegation to bury a royal father who, along with ukiwe and others, played leading roles in the creation of today’s Rivers and Bayelsa states between 1993 and 1996. When the civil war started in 1967 and Biafra lost control of Port Harcourt to the Federal forces, the newly created Rivers State was handed over to the Ijaw. Ijaw leaders continued to maintain that Rivers State, with Port Harcourt as its capital, was created for them as reward for ceding their coastal terrain to the Federal side, thus making the sea blockade of Biafra possible. The Ijaw groups claimed to constitute the majority and continued to dominate the state both during military and civilian dispensations. With time, however, the Igbo speaking people of the state, particularly the Ikwerre nationality, decided they wanted a state of their own where they would be able to assert their own political and economic interests. This was what led to the quest for the creation of Port Harcourt State. However, the Ijaws felt if such a state was created they would become estranged in a city they have been part and parcel of since it was founded by the colonialists. In fact, they had even started portraying Port Harcourt as the capital of a future Ijaw state. Thus was born a great rivalry between the Ijaw-speaking and Igbo-speaking groups for the control of Rivers and between what was termed the “Okrika-Ijaw” and “Ikwerre-Igbo” over the “ownership” of Port Harcourt. The gruesome murder of Dr Obi Wali, the leader of the Ikwerre political front by yet-to-be ascertained assassins in 1992, owed to this tussle, which often led to street battles between Okrikans and Ikwerres. Meanwhile, the late father of Nigeria’s nationalism, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, had discussed the best strategies for reducing the animosity between the Igbos and their Minority neighbours as well as dousing the ethnic tension between Ikwerres and their riverine co-indigenes of Rivers State. It was agreed that as the touted largest Minority group, the Ijaw needed a state of their own. But with their emotional attachment to Port Harcourt, how would Rivers State be split without creating a permanent ethnic war front in Nigeria’s premier oil city? With the Ijaw groups obviously being favoured by the Northern-led Federal Government, Eze Woluchem, a lawyer who was installed paramount ruler of Port Harcourt in 1977 turned to Dr Azikiwe, appealing for him to support the aspirations of his Igbo kinsmen in the struggle. An ageing “Zik” referred the Eze’s delegation to Commodore ukiwe, who had become Zik’s close political confidant. The Eze’s delegation of four, which included the late Chief Okogbule Wonodi and Chief Andrew Uchendu, met with ukiwe in his office in Victoria Island. Their proposal was that Port Harcourt State should only be for Igbo-speaking Rivers people, while the Ijaw-speaking part would be named New Rivers State. On the other hand, the Kalabaris did not want to be parted with Rivers State, neither did the Okrikas, and ukiwe advised that it would be “unstrategic” to cut out Bonny, Opobo, Kalabari and Okrika, apart from the fact that the Head of State, General Abacha, who was pro-Ijaw, might be pushed not to create any new state at all. Between ukiwe and the Ikwerre delegation, and taking into account the expressed needs of others, the maps of the present Rivers State and Bayelsa State were drawn and presented to Abacha, who found it acceptable |

I have said it times without number that we the egbema's ,or the ikwerre ,Anioma or Asaba people have nothing in common with an ijaw man or Bini man ... We are igbos ... So I see no reason why the ijaws will be dragging us into their SS republic stuff ... There is no part of rivers dat is an ijaw land ... And that's finally .... Bayelsa is the only state have have indigenous ijaw ... Ijaws should respect there host in rivers state ... Or one of this days we will chase them back to bayelsa Ijaw people invaded rivers state after betraying the old eastern state during the civil war ..... Getting a portion of land in rivers state was the deal they made with the Nigerian Govt , in return for betraying the old eastern region ... Ijaws are expansionist ... 7 Likes 2 Shares |
