Hello, abi20 When you want to go into any business that will be enduring, the place to start is to do some introspection- look inwards for where your strength lies. Your strength is a combination of your talents, skills and experience. A business built on your strength makes you unbeatable because no two people are exactly alike. There's something unique to you that sets you apart. You will be difficult to compete with in your own territory. Once you discover your strength, you should do some market research to see what the market wants & then package your strength into a product or service tallying with what the market wants. The fact that someone is doing well in a business does not mean you too will if it is not your area. I learnt this from personal experience. In 2007, I went into a particular lucrative business where I also someone who was doing very well in. After a little while, I discovered that the business did not match my personality. I was even ashamed to tell people the business I was into. I reduced my visits my business location & left my employee to it. Needless to say, the business failed. Today, the business I do tallies with my talents and personality & I'm not ashamed of it. You don't have to learn from your own mistakes- learn from others'. Thanks & God bless you. 2 Likes |
