Prostitution A Way To Reduce Rape by BlackSush(m): 11:43am On May 20, 2009
Lets face facts, rape is mainly caused by people who cannot get pussy on a regular day, so they cannot hold them selves and tend to rape people, I mean you can't just store all that stuff in you your whole life right? . But from what I have seen in the few Ashewo joints I know virtually anyone and everone can have sex how ever you want it there, (hard or gentle) no matter how u look as long as you have your money. so in the long run these prostituties tend to solve social problems, from self confidence to self discrimination. From statistics I observed in Bayelsa, the Increasing number of ashewo joints led to a simultaneous decrease in the number of rapes recorded. So shouldn't these girls be left to operate. They say Ashewo no be work but I see them as Social Workers and should be left to operate. What do U think?

how did the increasing number of brothels correspond to a simultaneous decrease in rape cases reported?

Did the rape victims turn to prostitution?

Brothels arent an end in themselves. They serve specific functions and one of these functions is aiding the underworld.

So if you support increasing prostitution, then you shouldnt complain about armed robbery in Nigeria.

Unless its regulated like they do in parts of Europe.

uh uh

rape and sexual harrassment are not so much about sexual urges, but about power ie a person is helpless and fully under your control. thats what rapists get off on.

i know of a 100% prick back in school who was a serial rapist. more than once, the guy forced himself on girls who were clearly going to get it on with him sooner or later.

legalization of prostitution is IMHO , not an issue in nigeria. i belive the only issues prostitutes face that are out of their control are the men in black .

i doubt if they are controlled by criminal cartels etal as they are in the west, though i could be wrong. . .

at least the er middle calss ones in our tertiary institutions are running themselves. . .

i disagree. men usually don't rape women cause they actually want sex, power, domination and torture are the main reasons why they heartlessly rape women.

and i dont see how prostitution can help curb rape cases cause prostitution has been in existence for a long time, nevertheless rapes still occur. this just goes to show you that most men don't rape women cause they are sex starved.

legalising a crime to solve a crime, i wonder how that will work.
By the way don't prostitute get raped too?

thnks 4 dis.

this is usually the point people tend to miss. just because they are prostitutes doesn't mean they are immune from rape. they do get raped too. just goes to show you prostitution is not a victimless crime after all, as "advocates" tend to claim.

You can not connect the two. Even though there are prostitutes people still commit rape, not just in Nigeria.

Prostitution is the oldest known business to man and has always been around. I do not see any reason why it should be illegal, it would be better if it were legal and controlled like in Holland for example where the girls are testing for STD's and HIV and have to carry paperwork.

Forced prostitution and rape is a totally different thing and both a criminal activity which should carry harse penalties.

I don't think legal prostitution would stop someone raping a woman, as it is the actual rape which turns these guys on and not necessarily the sex  undecided

But legalising and controlling prostitution is a good thing for all  smiley

On a funny note:

A prostitute goes into a shop to buy a dress.
She gives the cashier a $100 bill to pay
The cashier informs her that the $100 is fake
The prostitute screams "Oh my God I have been raped' grin grin grin

So prostitution is illegal in NAija? could never have imagined. . .

Indeed, please listen to those who speak the truth.

Rape is not a crime of sex, but one of violence. In places where prostitution is lawful (e.g., Las Vegas, Nevada), rape still occurs, and it does so with devastating results.

Prostitution is NOT a way to reduce rape. Haven't we heard of prostitutes being raped, afterall?
