Saum means fasting while juu'i is hunger. Well, fasting may be described as a spiritual exercise while hunger is a kind of trial from Allaah.

Now, Juu'i(hunger), in what context would you describe or explain hunger?. Hunger as in unable to find means to eat or you mean in other context or both?

Well, hunger results from inability to get what to eat. Maybe because one lacks the financial ability to get food. Hunger can also be wilfully caused. Maybe towards a spiritual goal.
My experience with hunger shows that, while naturally feared, it has so many physical and spiritual benefits.
