Simple. Tokunbo cars are now higher in price, owners of these nigerian used cars know it's now harder for people to buy those tokunbo cars and they're now going for sound nigerian used cars, so the owners are cashing in on that fact by raising their own prices.

For instance, before the dollar increase:

Nigerian used 1995-96 camry normally was sold in the market for 400-500k max
Now, you see people asking for 600-650k for these same car model.



That said, it still depends on how desperate the owner is to sell, hence, you can be lucky to find wonderful deals, like someone asking for 300k just to sort out a personal problem.
