The hate ouster of the immediate past president of Nigeria led to the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari. People who really observed Nigeria’s polity pre-2015 general elections knew that the support received by those that headed the change campaign were directed at the presidency of Mr Jonathan because he failed to fulfill the promise of running an single term. The change programme began as a PDP internal crisis poorly managed by Mr Jonathan, and it was headed by leaders from northern Nigeria who felt ostracised and those who felt the formerly popular PDP zoning arrangement has to be observed. The clamour for change over the supposed poor performance of Mr Jonathan was the only civil background to realise a formidable team against the already weakened Peoples Democratic Party and install a northerner, with Mohammadu Buhari being the choicest candidate from north other regions in Nigeria may support.

Historically, previous administrations post-1999 return to democracy witnessed a lot of political turbulence. Looting of public funds became uncontrollable and the Nigerian State was directed by corrupt leaders who were bigots, unrealistic and with unsustainable developmental projects. For 16 years, Nigerians grew through a democratic system of government that did not provide the dividends of democracy to the people sufficiently and there was widespread use of instruments of law to take undue advantage of the Nigerian masses.

While the drumbeats of the 2015 elections from majority of Nigerians called for the ouster of Jonathan, the formerly opposition party, All Progressive Congress used the economic frustration and hate suffered by Nigerian people to bring in Mr Buhari, the supposedly innocent and Nigeria’s only uncorrupted politician. The APC campaigns made a lot of promises but six months into power, the government of Mr Buhari seems more clueless than the last acclaimed clueless administration.

The Buhari came into power unprepared and unaware of recent trends in Nigeria’s polity. Buhari’s team was driven by emotions and stories news outlets had shared about incidences of corruption and looted public funds that went without prosecution. The team was frustrated by the greatness of their country which remains a mirage to the citizens’ and the team failed to make political promises that were realistic in the face of global economic, political and security turnarounds.

It is no doubt Nigerians need help. Having discovered that six months into Mr Buhari’s government, there is no visible change, they still will only blame Jonathan’s government as the cause of the no-progress Buhari’s government is making. A social commentator had claimed that Nigerians that supported the change train are still acting like they were campaigning for the election of Buhari forgetting that they have been given power to deliver to the people dividends of their expected democratic change. Issues of women and girls, economy, power, and security are not improving using Jonathan’s government as yardstick. With disappointments spreading and becoming more visible on the faces of Nigerians, it may be difficult for Mr Buhari and his team to realise and satisfy the dream Nigerian masses voted them .

The tragedy of the situation is that even if you give him anther ten years to prepare, he most probably wont e ready.. You cant give what you don't have... It is even worse when you are empty but see yourself as the most intelligent person i the room. Imagine a bloke without his basic school cert ridiculing the position of ministers as that of noise makers..
