Nigerians ans structures?....shey we never learn that just because a structure is big don't mean a hospital is world class. Even the gadgets displayed are what is expected of a regular hospital yet we celebrate one xray machine... (at the time and age of multi slice CTs) we celebrate incubators and drug dose dispensers and USS Machines. Abeg.....where are the perseonnels....? The pead surgeons ? the specially trained nurses...the anesthetists...the interventional radiologists..the paediatric oncologists? They ever loving peadiatricians? Show me the the automated lab equipment with well qualified lab scientists ? The computerised records department....the 2- 3 units of rapid response paramedics. Then maybe we can start talking of a world class hospital . We are not dumb at least I am not. Structures don't mean hospital strcutes mean hotels and event centre s abeg left to me turn that place to a hotel rather than deceiving people that it'world class's when its only Malaria and diarrhoea it will treat. People should open their eyesss jaareee 2 Likes |

holyFRED: Your comment made perfect sense until this portion I've quoted. What are you saying? Maybe I'm totally misunderstanding your point, but are you suggesting any health organization should go ahead and hire quack "doctors" and "nurses" who were unable to pass their medical training? There is NO reason at all, except in extreme cases of war and similar outbreaks, for such individuals to be allowed to practice in any form. They do not have jobs because they are unemployable. They are unfit to practice. They have not proven beyond reasonable doubt that they wouldn't make fatal medical errors. This is THE reason why they're not employable and jobless. It has nothing to do with rich vs poor with these medical staff. It is a case of competence vs incompetence, a very delicate balance of life and death. Remove sentiment whenever you approach such things. 3 Likes |

holyFRED:@Bolded i get the social injustice that may accompany the use and access of such facility, but what i don't get is why you'd rather they employed an individual(mind you he's not a doctor or a nurse) with a "fail", dude the med exams are meant to fish out those that are "not good" enough, it can be very tough, but i assure it's for the best, we should not encourage mediocrity because we feel its unfair to employ people based on merit, if an individual is not up to standard or even certified why would he/she be employed and have the life of people in their care? practicing medicine without certification is a felony... without a license you're not supposed to answer the title "doctor" or even being employed as one. check urself b4 u wreck urself bro. mind you, not all "pass" doctors are employed. |

Its a worthy investment for the people of Anambra. But a hospital without a CT scan and MRI which by most accounts are basic to most standard Hospitals in the west, isnt quite a world class hospital. Yet. Does this hospital have radiotherapy facilities? It seems it cant do much for a child with any of the many childhood malignancies. All these exaggerated and sensational reporting whenever a new hospital is built really shows how much we have been left behind by the world. Having said that the owner has done well in investing in an area where most like him couldn't be bothered. |

Willydilly: Go and make your own money and build your own hospital, if u can not build a hospital, make enuf money so that you can also take your kids to that kind of hospital. If u can not afford d both, shut up and stop being a common man. The man that built it no get two heads. Work hard for good living and stop depending on free things from people who worked hard, the least u can do is to appreciate good things. Those rich men that take their kids abroad for treatment, they pay huge money for that, so, it is not a crime if such world class standard s brought home so that they can pay @ home and generate work and revenue for people @ home. Btw,make that hospital free and see it die in less than 2yrs, thereby making it irrelevant to both the rich and your so called common man. 1 Like |

Even the rich will still fly their kids abroad for treatment and I wait to see if Americans and British will bring their kids from their countries to this hospital in Nigeria for treatment. World class indeed. Can mama Akara child be admitted into this hospital? |

Someone said it is for the rich kids. Whether it is for the rich kid or poor kid, at least we have something that would be diverting some of the funds our people spend on overseas medical treatment. I will just advise them to maintain the facilities very well and employ good hands, they can also bring in experts from UK, US, Germany, India to come and perform difficult procedures, that way the society will have confidence in the hospital. 2 Likes |

holyFRED:You have said the truth and it shows that your brain functions properly. Don't mind those that are easily carried away and misled by every display of wealth. Most africans forget that prevention is better than cure. Looking at the environment of the hospital, even a blind man can tell that huge amount of money was spent. Why can't that "Jackson" channel that money to the construction of something that can make the environment cleaner and healthier? Dusty roads and adulterated consumer goods endanger the health of the public and some people are building expensive hospitals. Let them be sincere to tell us that they are taking advantage of the unhealthy environment. Woe unto the targeted preys that rejoice at the tactical steps of their predators. |
