Following the results released at the Local Government level, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Abubakar Audu, has won the Kogi State governorship election. He defeated the incumbent Governor Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as reported by this day live.com The results from Kogi West senatorial district showed that the candidate of the APC, Audu won six LGAs while the PDP candidate, Wada, won just one LGA. Also in Kogi East, Audu defeated Wada by claiming six LGAs while Wada won the rest three LGAs. Kogi Central also saw Audu beat his main rival, Wada with three out of the five LGAs.
