Recent Trend Of Begging On Nairaland. by JumpingChicken(m): 3:55am On Nov 23, 2015 |
For some time there has been various threads opened by some members of Nairaland begging for money, assistance or job. Personally I think its becoming un-becoming. We all have issues and keep trying to fix them but begging, even though situations are bad is still degrading and I personally feel embarrassed seeing threads like that. More annoying are people opening new accounts just to beg for money. I think the admin here on Nairaland should do something about this as it creates a bad image for not just Nairalanders but Nigerians as well because Nairaland is an international forum. 7 Likes 1 Share |

panachuku:Oga stop encouraging rubbish abeg ! What do u think will become of this forum if every body start begging or do u think most people don't have issues. The begging for job is even understandable but for money is jst totally nt appealing at all. They shld commit crime naw and face the law if caught. U have friends, U have relatives, u have ur church members etc U can always meet them unless u ur self u are not a giver even when u have the little that u have do u make out time to share?! If u are a giver in ur own time of need people will always give u this one na sure banca no stories. 13 Likes |

Man's want is insatiable. Jumpingchicken, you quite know you are not being scammed, forced or whatever. You believe it brings a bad name to a forum like this, Forum you did not create. I'm really ashamed of you to be frank. If you don't have anything better to say, shut up! If people mention names of people they want money or assistance from, that's when I, personally, will see it as an issue. Even on Facebook, people ask for money. It's something that is inevitable. There are people who have gotten help from there, so leave them alone. My question to you, now , is : if you find people who beg as a problem , what will say about people Who scam people of their hard earned cash. |

If someone is against people who solicit for jobs here, u re intelligently mad from the 1st Order of Madness Grail.. For those who beg for money, that I can discourage, a platform can be floated where they can send their issues while the Mods verify such before making it public.. We all know 419 boyz full 9ja, so I discourage the beg beg stuff, even on ur street u have got those who beg as a proffession. 1 Like |

I believe some soliciting for help are real & shouldn't be discouraged to save some lives whereas many are fraudulent. I suggest there should be a way of screening them to ascertain those who really need help and discard those of the lazy beings. My opinion. |

adeememman: hajlat: menix: harsysky: harsysky: menix: NOBODYY: osamaBUSH: AsherStorm: panachuku: you can all criticize me as much as you like. 85% of people viewing job and vacancies section are without jobs and they are all trying to find jobs. if they all open threads begging for jobs i am sure there will be no space for employers to place job vacancies. i am currently without job and things arent easy for me either but even though i am a graduate and i once worked as the general manager of a company until recently i still do menial jobs just to get by. i dont condone begging that doesnt mean i cant or dont beg but if i have to beg any one for anything i have to meet that person and not hide my identity or begging an entire crowd. i believe if a nairalander wants to ask for help here on nairaland its o.k we are family and can help. but when you have to open up a new account to beg for money, thats bullshit it doesnt show the humility you are trying to portray. i read a thread yesterday about someone begging for 8,000 from nairalanders before december and i viewed her profile to see that its a new profile without picture or history. you have facebook and twitter accounts why dont you beg you friends and family on facebook and twitter by posting on your wall that you are broke and need help, i am sure you will get help faster there. all i am trying to say is that it is not wrong to beg and its not a crime to beg, but its simply degrading to beg but life could be tough and sometimes you just may not have a choice but you shouldnt lose your dignity while begging. it should always be the last thing we do. if you are jobless and broke, there are still things we can do to get by rather than beg. 3 Likes |

Since PEOPLE are now opportunistic BEGGARS on nairaland... Let me beg for mine.. PLEASE, I beg APC to focus and revive this economy. I beg GOD to only permit the Lady who's deemed to be my wife to beseech me. IF not destroy the relationship I am in., so as to create room for my wife. Because daughters Of Jezebel now abound. I beg NIGERIANS to try and be humans No human is born to hate the other. Rather we grow up into what, we have been told to believe. |

Favolly:Lol... You are funny. Oya OP, you too have opened a thread to beg them what should I do now? Open my own thread to read thus- "jumpingchicken abeg stop begging joblanders to stop begging for assistance" lol. On a serious note, I think jumping chicken has made some observations and tendered his submission, therefore shouldn't be criticized or seen as an enemy of progress. This thing is personal as well as corporate but I will always say let's be modest in whatever means we choose to adopt, there are some information we release in the process that is totally uncalled for. However, it is he who wears the shoe knows where it pinches the most. |
