Senator Sani Blasts Charles Soludo by alberson(f): 10:09am On Nov 23, 2015 |
Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central district has lambasted Charles Soludo, a former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for calling for removal of oil subsidy. Shehu Sani Leadership reports that the senator bared his mind on Sunday, November 22, while receiving members of Kaduna State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Bishara Baptist Church who paid him a courtesy call. Addressing members of CAN, Senator Sani said: “If you use it for good, you are within the ambit of the religion. But if you use it for bad, you are outside the ambit of the religion”. In his speech, the senator strongly criticized Soludo for telling President Muhammadu Buhari to remove the subsidy. He also wandered why the former CBN governor did not suggest such removal to ex- president Olusegun Obasanjo, under whose administration he had served for five years. According to Sani, such call is an attempt to undermine the integrity of President Buhari. “In the last 48 hours, the Nigerian media was awash with a paper presentation by Professor Charles Soludo, critical of the economic policies and strategies of President Buhari. There is nothing wrong with anybody criticising; we need criticism and alternative points of view for us to understand whether we are wrong or right. “Professor Soludo called on President Buhari to remove fuel subsidy. This was a man who was governor of Central Bank for five years, under a government that served for eight years. And if the government of Olusegun Obasanjo was not able to remove fuel subsidy while he was a leading figure in the economic circle, is it the government of Buhari that will be told to remove fuel subsidy,” he said. Meanwhile, the Emir of Kano and former CBN governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi 11, has advised Buhari to remove the subsidy on fuel if he wants the Nigerian economy to bounce back. According to Sanusi, Nigeria can no longer afford the many leakages that have affected its economy for a long time. https://www.naij.com/645457-subsidy-removal-senator-sani-blasts-former-cbn-governor.html

The both parties including soludo and the senator are so miserable. Nothing gud can ever come out of this gov't, why should i be struggling to buy fuel when my so-called president travelled to Iran to tour abi did he also go there for nuclear talks when his country is gradually sinking down. |

In as much as I support buhari, there are some powerful forces that is using subsidy to robb us and NO president has liver to remove it. Jonathan partly removed but yet end up paying it in full, the only country that successful removed it is IRAN, and they did it by using PR first before removing it. No other country has dare to try it from saudi arabia, angola, venezuela etc. The subsididy is a way to bribe some people. Every country has cabals but some cabals still pity their people but here they don't care.the only solution is for the presidency to come out clean on total expense spent on subsidy. Saudi has refinaries yet it pays subsidy to her populate. We need the truth |
