Is Obj Jinxed?: Or Is He Simply Just Have Succession Problems?: by jamesbaba: 7:44am On May 24, 2009 |
I have come to think on this issue before now,Is Obasanjo Jinxed, or what?, let me take you down the memory lane when he was the then Millitary president, you know he initiated the civilian rule, but despite the heriocs of people like late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, he choose to gave government to Sheu Shagari, and as i the hstory put it, Nigeria started crumbling under Shagari's Government, (Austerity measures). Now he came back to "fix" some mess, and he really tried, no doubt he posses some grace i mean OBJ, but i think he has sucession problem, The Yar'Adua that he annoited now hasnt been able to get anything done in two years running, instead Nigeria is just nose diving down everyday,Even OBJ even confessed that things are not right. Forumite lets discuss this, is OBJ has succession problems?. I know a good person will have good successor, just take for example Tinubu, and Fashola, see the wonders in Lagos now. God will help us, please i need contribution on this topic. Fm baba www.fmbaba.lefora.com |

"an achievement without a successor is a failure" obj is a maradonna of the highest order. his intention was to remain in powerbut since nigerians refused him that via third term, he vowed to make us pay dearly for our sturborness to him. even if the devil himself(satan) is given the official powers to be a president, he must do something that look like good. i used abacha as my example this, as bad as he was, nigeria and nigerians enjoyed the best of football under him if not for anyother thing, he ( abacha) was the best for that. the man(obj) had 8 uninterupted yrs with oil boom to fix security, nigerian police, power supply, bad roads, our educational systems, corruption and many other decayed outlets but what do we get? everybody is saying he tried, he tried, so how did he try? giving out illegal and uncompleted contracts that were paid for? appointing a direct tool to checkmate oponents in the name of war on corruption? the evils of obj and his administration climaxed with his handover. the question here is, was it in error? the correct answer is, No. he told us earlier that it was going to be a "DO OR DIE AFFAIRS". his tugs adedibu and chris uba were on hand to do their dirty jobs while saint ribadu was in his official cleaniness to advise contestants to drop their ambitions or face efcc. look at it this way, if he had any programes that needed continuation, there was man who have been working with him from inception and his name is atiku. it is obvious there were a lot of hiden agenda hence the introduction of a strange man. on the other hand, yar adua i not a new name to the obasanjos as the late yar adua was obj's second during his military days as head of state and died while in abacha's net alongside obj hence the need to compensate the family for his death. if you talk about been jinxed, his son will have a more realistic anwer to do after loosing his wife to his own father. |

@ chidichris 75% of what you said about OBJ in your reply to the post is spot on. ATIKU( a former custom officer who is only second to non in corruption- that can't be good for Nigeria and Nigerians.) To show you that ATIKU is only interested in power , he went to AC, a former VP of a different party, NO PRINCIPLE just power grab. 2. Secondly, ABACHA should not be given any credit whatsoever for anything because if anything good ever happen under him, it is either by accident or simply using the bloods of Nigerians to do it. 3. OBJ, lack of vision, vindictiveness, nepotism and thoughtlessness got him to give us SHAGARI in 1979 and now YAR A'CLUELESS. However, it is part of the NORTH politics on those 2 occassions. The issues are complex because we have not got a visionary leader who can set out issues even if he will have to offend both the power brokers in Nigeria and also Nigerians because Nigerians sometime get what they deserve in a leader. @ poster We got both SHAGARI and YAR A'DO NOTHING because OBJ spent 8 years NOT thinking about the future of Nigeria. You need to dream and have vision, and stop this SOUTH -NORTH politics. If he OBJ has mentored silently a dozen Nigerians of all tribes(like our Lord Jesus Christ did) he would be left with at least 4 good ones, of course there would be Judas Iscariot among them, Thomas the doubter etc, eventually a good disciple will come out . A Good example is TINUBU to FASHOLA. even Lagosians think TINUBU hasn't done well but he has choosen his successor well. He didn't give it to Femi PEDRO simply because he was his deputy. OBJ is a curse on himself because he has the opportunity to lead this country twice and on both occassion he failed. Both Shagari and Yar A'dull are undoing whatever the little amount of success he can lay claim to. |
