Is Nnamdi Kanu a human right defender?
I see something in this for him.

Good one Naija. Especially now that we don't need anything gay in our country. These people always have a way of roping one in.

We miss Goodluck in no small measure. Most people who voted against APC did not do so because of the party or north but because of who the presidential candidate is. APC claims to be progressive but their candidate represents everything retrogressive. The Ibos are not particularly against North or APC but the person of the presidential candidate. The parochial nature and the view of a sectionalism of his person. I doubt if south west will maintain this choice if they have the opportunity again.

Those at the helms of affairs understand the implications of the so-called resolution on their country.I want to believe their decision is for the betterment of the country.Unless u sit in dat position,u can't actually tell what we are facing as a country in the hand of UN and other world powers.

China
explained that it had ‘no choice’ but to vote against it as
'certain western countries' use the protection of defenders
as an excuse to 'interfere in the internal affairs of
developing countries and disrupt their social stability'.
...there-in lies the problem. Before you know it, they (UN) will start disturbing us that we don't have enough gays represented in our government.

PMB, We thank you for setting us back 32 years smiley... You and your goons have done very well angry

Nigeria said that:

they saw 'no need' for the resolution, effectively denying the importance of independent civil society and dissent to democracy and development.

China explained that:

"it had ‘no choice’ but to vote against it as 'certain western countries' use the protection of defenders as an excuse to interfere in the internal affairs of developing countries and disrupt their social stability".

Nigeria saw no reason for its meaning it was unnecessary given all the human right chatters that we have.

China was very explicit in their explanation.

Go and read this book "Confession of an Economic Hitman" -- John Perkins(ex CIA spy). You will never subscribe to anything that has to do with freedom and human right coming from the UN.

Now I believe we have a terrorist leading us.

This is a disgrace,,if 144 UN member states supported it,then what's our excuse, seeing Russia and China along with Nigeria shows that clearly Nigerians are now among nations tat disregard the role of human rights activists and defenders, now cramp on the social responsibility of humanist worldwide to succeed in a fight against human oppression.

A big shame on the Nigerian envoy.

I know some of you will bash me,well it's worthy of note that most Nigerians think like cows and don't have regard for the dignity of others,so it's okay if any Nigerian stands by Nigeria's vote against humanity.

As long as Russia voted against it, Nigeria did well to follow suit. We aint gonna tolerate babaric behaviours in the guise of human rights. These lots always got something up their sleeves, there is no truth in their goodmorning. If they say stop, you better run with your heels hitting your head.

OrIandoOwoh:
UN General Assembly on Wednesday, November 25,
adopted a resolution which seeks to protect those who
face risks and attacks for their work to defend and promote
human rights.

The resolution includes a number of new, important and
substantive provisions, including as to the vital role of
advocacy and the work of human rights defenders in
contributing to sustainable
development and the realisation of economic, social and
cultural rights, and as to the responsibilities of business
enterprises with respect to engaging, consulting and
protecting defenders.

Russia, China, Nigeria, Kenya,Myanmar and South Africa
were among countries that voted against the resolution.
Nigeria said that they saw 'no need' for the resolution,
effectively denying the importance of independent civil
society and dissent to democracy and development. China
explained that it had ‘no choice’ but to vote against it as
'certain western countries' use the protection of defenders
as an excuse to 'interfere in the internal affairs of
developing countries and disrupt their social stability'.
While congratulating the 144 countries that stood with
human rights defenders, International Service for Human
Rights, Programme Manager and Legal Counsel.
Madeleine Sinclair said they are disappointed with the 14
countries that voted against the resolution and those who
declined.

"We are extremely disappointed that 14 countries voted
against the text and that a further 40 States took the
cowardly position of abstaining. We agree with the
Norwegian sponsors of the text who stated that both votes
against the resolution and abstentions amount to a failure
to recognise the important role of defenders and the need
for their protection."

"It is particularly disappointing to see current and
incoming members of the Human Rights Council either
abstaining or voting no on the resolution. The votes of
South Africa and Myanmar are a complete betrayal of the
many brave human rights defenders who have played such
a vital role in the transitions in those States" she added.

Good job Bubu, Now u can suspend the constitution and rule Nigerians as it pleases you because majority of the Nigerian electorates knew about you and your undemocratic antecedence yet they preferred to go that route. Dish it out to them in full measure.
