A true life encounter with my friend grand mom. I will be brief and please pardon me English


3 days ago I visited a friend and during our discussion his dad sent him on an errand so I was left alone. I decided to go through the family photo album and I was amazed of the photogenic features of the entire family. But one out of all was more photogenic; a black and white photo of a young woman. Her eyes are beautiful as the rising sun, her smile as lovely as Christmas morning and she look so graceful like a guardian angel. A woman probably in her late 80s came in and I showed her the picture saying "please ma, who is this lady". She looked at me and said "I am". I said with a firm smile "it not true ma". Then she looked at me again but with a smile and it struck me; I have seen that smile before, truly she is the lady. Then she sat me down and said "I am a shadow of my former beauty, I am wrinkled, weak and probably close to my end. I spent infinite time staring at the mirror instead of my soul. I was in a position to make a positive impact in the lives of many but was lost caressing vanity and now my greatest regret is now getting my name engraved with a golden pen for posterity to see. My advice to you son is to try make a positive impact in the lives of people especially the vulnerable and your beauty will be worshipped by generations to come". Then she stood up, took few steps before looking back at me with that Christmas morning smile to say "Love, be humble, respect all and most importantly fear God". "Dr Great Atagana"
