Travelling To Canada For Baby Delivery by Nudge: 12:57pm On Dec 05, 2015 |
My wife is about 4 weeks pregnant, and I want her to have our baby in Canada, so s/he becomes a Canadian citizen. I really need Nairalanders advice on how to get this done without hassles. The real issue is about visa. I'm thinking she'll have to go with a tourist visa. I have a female friend who's doing her PhD somewhere in Manitoba. My friend is willing to accommodate my wife for the period she's in Canada; and help arrange hospital matters. I know to get a visa to Canada, it is essential to show proof that you will return to Nigeria. I really need your advice on how we can mange that. We have a son here, and obviously I'm here (as her husband). Will that be enough proof that she'll return? She's unemployed and she does petty trading; she doesn't have a robust bank account that shows income flow. Will it be possible for her to use my bank account if need be, since I fend for her? |
