The Federal Government has broken up the controversial Petroleum Industry Bill into different versions and is proposing splitting the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, into two companies — the Nigeria Petroleum Assets Management Company (NPAM) and a National Oil Company (NOC) that would be run on commercial lines and partly privatised.

According to a report obtained from Reuters, Monday, the Federal Government is breaking up the PIB and is replacing it first with a law to ‎overhaul the petroleum sector with the aim of closing loopholes that bred corruption.

This was one of Buhari's campaign promises. It takes analytical minds to see simple solutions to seemingly complex problems.

Hope it is accomplished in quick time. An overhaul of the oil sector is long overdue.

Buhari should concentrate more on Agriculture; the petroleum industry is becoming a dead business; the earlier we wean away from it, the better.

If he will channel some part of his interest in oil into other things like agriculture, Nigeria may be rerouted to the part of recovery but it's unfortunate we are going downward daily.

Many people (including some visionary yorubas and hausas) have seen the hand writing boldly written on the wall and have since come to terms with the reality. But some people, like you, are still basking in the euphoria of illusive fantasy of "one nigeria". It's your right so please continue. All I can say is that I feel pity for you and your likes.

Many of you make this rather silly mistake. BIAFRA IS NOT ALL ABOUT EAST OR IBO. IBOS ARE ONLY PART OF BIAFRA. BIAFRA SPANS BEYOND S.E! The sooner you and your likes get this into your thick skulls the better for you.
