To Governor  Fashola Where is the housing for the poor? (No minimum wage earner can buy or rent a 2bedroom flat of 7 Million naira)Schools for the Poor? Beautification? what priority,whats the sustenance assurance,remember the good old days, Jakande era , Jakande estate in Ipaja ,Epe,Ikorodu,Dolphin,Isolo,Lagos Island, Free Education then even when no jingles on tax, when Lagos was not generating Billions,I can remember "this book is not for sale" all printed on my text and note books. can we go back to that era . Sir We can avoid criticism by saying, doing, and being nothing. I must confess. My view is quite different from others who keep on praising you. if you can look inward and outward on this two(Housing and Education). I believe it will touch so many lives ,we can do something on Agriculture two,The masses are not asking for too much ,just the three essentials,Foods ,Clothing's and Shelters. People are suffering and no more smiling now (apology to Fela Anikulapo) Life becoming unbearable. What can one do with N7,500. rent 1,000 food 200x 30=N6,000. Soap(lets assume am using detergent ) 200 Monthly. Transport 200 x 30=N6,000 I cant continue with the list. the above is just for an individual, compare to what a political office holder earn Monthly,and all other side benefits.

Education is free and text book is free for students in Lagos State. But some principals still try to sell them to students (last year three principals were fired for trying to sell books to students.)

The govt is currently knocking down schools and constructing new schools, which are actually better than the Jakande style school that were meant to be temporary. It might be at a slower pace than Jakande, though.

As for housing, I personally do not think its the govt. business to be building houses (a lot of people might diagree with me on this) the govt should focus on infastructure such as roads, water, electricity, etc to encourage investment (private sector building homes). The truth is govt cannot manage homes after they are built, we see that in developed countires.

What the state govt should focus on is to reform the land use act (to lower and streamline cost of buying a land) and to create law to check and protect tenants and landlords (which the govt has done that and  just sent a bill to the Lagos assembly for modification and passage).

I dont think Fashola is doing anything extraordinary.

Did anybody here watch Channels TV interview with Fashola on May 31 to commemorate Democracy day?
