The National President Of Arewa Youth Forum Endorses Face of Fashion Africa/Africa Icon Awards

It was a gathering of talented and vibrant Nigerian youths, as the National President of Arewa Youth Forum, Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu endorses the second edition of Face of Fashion Africa Beauty Pageant/Africa Icon Awards that will be staged on 24th April, 2016 at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria.

The meeting which took place today, Wednesday, at Valencia Hotel Abuja, is to intimate the Arewa youth President and the Arewa youths in general on the plans and preparations of the organization, (Face of Fashion Africa Beauty Pageant/Africa Icon Awards) to host one of the biggest show/event in the documentation of Africa entertainment, that will be recorded in the pavilion of history.

Mr. Abraham Lawal, CEO of Face of Fashion Africa/Africa Icon Awards said “it is one of the major ways Africans can showcase our cultures. Face of Fashion Africa is a platform where models showcase our Africa stuffs, fabrics and attires. And it is getting interesting because, the world today, patronizes Africa attires! Also we encourage the younger generations to fashionize and utilize the African fashions. And right now, we are working on a project called “SUPPORT NIGERIAN WINDOWS TODAY”; this will be done in collaborations with government agencies, cooperative organizations and sympathetic individuals. Above all, we want to see Africans celebrating, promoting, and developing Africa attires. And also to use the same platform to empower the girl child in the society”.

The African Icon Awards (AIAS) is geared at recognizing Africans who have distinguished themselves by contributing to the Advancement of Africa. The African ICON Awards celebrates Men and Women all over Africa who have demonstrated uncommon patriotism, excellent, strong and exceptional leadership through civil governance and responsibilities. Meanwhile, it is pertinent to mention, that we are also trying to appreciate and recognise our passed heroes such as Late Obafemi Awolowo, Late Nelson Mandela, Late Fela and many more in Africa, Mr. Abraham further stated.

Alhaji Gambo used the occasion to urge Nigerian youths on peace building; using the Biafra protesters in the south east and boko haram in the north east of Nigeria as a case study. Alhija Gambo went further to say, if the Nigerian youths whose foundation sustainable national developments, economic growth and among others, depend on can embrace peace and work towards the Nigeria of our dreams, Nigeria will be better than what it is now and we shall be able to lay the desired foundations for the younger and unborn generations.

He commends the organisers of Face of Fashion Africa beauty Pageant/Africa Icon Awards for coming up with ideas that will bring Africans together and celebrate our rich cultural heritage, and not just celebrating but to discuss issues affecting Africa continent and to fine-tune palliative measures for sustainable developments and peace building in Africa. “Once more, I want to thank you, the organisers for finding me worthy to be honoured as Africa Icon Youth Ambassador 2016, Alhija Gambo added.
