Biafra: Yoruba Leaders Calls For Restructuring Of Nigeria by Earthkumy(m): 2:21pm On Dec 09, 2015
Prominent Yoruba leaders yesterday
called on President Muhammadu Buhari
to urgently consider restructuring of the
country as a way out of its lingering
national crisis.
The leaders also urged the president to
roll out a comprehensive economic plan
to rebuild the country infrastructure,
reflate the economy,create massive jobs
and raise the standard of education in
the country.
In a communique issued after their
summit in Akure, the Ondo State capital
yesterday, the leaders appealed to
Federal Government to look into the
causes of separatist feelings and agitation
by the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOD)
for a Republic Biafra and initiate
constitutional reforms to give a sense of
belonging to all constituent units of the
country.
The summit which was entitled, Economic
Downturn and Unemployment in
Yorubaland, noted with regrets that the
activities of nomadic Fulani cattle rearers
continue to constitute a menace to the
host communities.
Prominent leaders who attended the
event included Gen. Raji Rasak, Basorun
Sehinde Arogbofa, Bishop Bolanle
Gbonigi, Ayo Adebanjo, Ambassador
Yemi Faronbi, Gani Adams, Chief Olu
Falae, Kunle Olajide, Yinka Odumakin,
Chief Reuben Fasonranti, among others.
According to the communique, “ While
acknowledging the realisation by the
Federal government that the mono
product economy has collapsed within
the context of dwindling oil revenue,
necessitating the diversification of the
economy in order to create new corridors
of prosperity, states that this would be
impossible without changing the 1999
constitution which prevents the
federating units from exploring the
resources under their soil.
“We calls for a meeting of Yoruba states
Governors with leaders of the nation to
fashion out an agenda for cooperation
that would leverage on the economic
strength of each state to create a
conducive atmosphere for entrepreneurs
to tap into the resources across states
that could empower our people to float
businesses that can engage our millions
of unemployed youth. They are enjoined
to pay particular attention to SMEs and
the tourism potentials of the region in
creating jobs.”

Why can't yorubas initiate anything on their own.
Always hiding under other tribes to say their maind.

So if not for this strong Biafra protest, they would not have known that Nigeria needs restructuring.

Can't you people open up and air your views instead of waiting for Igbos to be in the fore front.

We don't fear no body and think the Hausa know that it's only the Igbos that challenge them anywhere anyday.

The problem with southern Nigeria is lack of cohesion caused by fear.

Proudly Igbo.

The truth is nobody take ibo serious!
Ibo are insignificant, irrelevant and above all, parasites to the country at large!
Why do you think Buhari or any prominent leader in government haven't voice out his/her opinion on your stup!d biafra despite all the protest made by Biafra as opposed to when Yoruba cried out secession when Chief Falae was kidnapped!
Did you notice the agitation in the north the moment yoruba cried out secession? To tell you that when the king of the jungle take one step, the whole jungles rumbles and shakes!
As a matter of fact, Yoruba was the first to seek secession which was quashed by Zik, after which the Niger delta sought theirs which was also quashed by another ibo man yet you self entitled greedy landlocked parasites thought you could mange your secession by disturbing the peace of the country, preaching hatred and dragging the SS in the mud with yours? Where is such barbarian thing done?
LOL!
When Yoruba talks, others bow!
Love my tribe like kilode!
