nduchucks:And somehow u missed where she said it was 'sequel to a meeting gej chaired ' where a 50:50 ratio was agreed upon, to apply recoverd funds to security and developmental projects. She was seeking the approval of the president to borrow the money from the funds, to pay the NSA sequel to a meeting GEJ chaired where such expense was approved. She did not approve the expense, it was not her job to do so. She would have to approve the disbursement of the funds. That prison go full starting with the actors and down to fashola and amechi who used state's funds to finance buhari's election, while he looked the other way. Buhari himself should be in that prison. I can guarantee u NOI will not be an inmate, much to the deep pain and agony of your likes. |

BeeBeeOoh:. The answer to all your questions is "YES"!!! Nigeria is BROKE. We need money to revive, finance and stabilise our dead economy. Our money was stolen by a few individuals and the money is intact. If we don't take from them they will continue to use the loots to wreak harvoc in the nation!!! We need the money!!! 1 Like 1 Share |

nduchucks: Of course! Nothing can change your stance. If you believe that a one-page memo from Iweala seeking the GEJ's approval to borrow the money does not imply that the lady authorized the transfer of these funds, then I have to conclude that you are quite naive. Read the memo again: "His request is sequel to the meeting you chaired with the committee on use of recovered funds, where the decision was made that the recovered Abacha funds would be split 50-50 between urgent security needs..." "This letter is to seek your approval to borrow these funds for now..." Reading comprehension isn't everyone's forte. I understand. |

BuddhaPalm: Oga, the decision was to split the funds 50-50 between urgent security needs.....ko? It was not a decision to willy nilly send the funds to Dasuki to be shared by PDP cronies for GEJ's campaigns and other personal uses. I'm afraid this memo does not absolve your goddess from culpability in these crimes. The issue here is not English comprehension, but the disgraceful lack of integrity and lame attempt to cover up obvious crimes by some of you people. As I stated earlier, this is just the beginning, just wait and see how things unfold. |

Xapio: I agree DT based on d issues so far, ngozi didn't steal. Its not her job to track weapon purchases. D fact though is that JONATHAN WAS THE THIEF. You cant just request money from CBN, and you get it without the presidents involvement. You really think dasuki had dt kind of power? Dasuki and Madueke were just greedy and obedient pawns. FACT. The looters are d recipients. Investigate all those companies dt received cash from dasuki and ull see GEJ behind it. This mode of stealing has bn in existence since d days of IBB. What's extremely painful is DT they halved state govt allocations around this time (pple cldnt get salaries for months) & they also allowed brave men go out and fight an insurgency wtout weapons. No wonder some of them refused to fight. Its unforgivable. They're all still trying to see how much information will get out. When the stakes become truly high, trust me, someone will still rat him out and mention his name. My guess is it will be dasuki. Keep watching. |

BeeBeeOoh: 1. Yes corruption is. Nigeria's biggest problem. 2. If those who looted funds in the last administration are not brought to book and the funds recovered, that will only encourage people in this administration to loot as well rather than concentrate on their assigned duties hence worsening the economy 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Arms Deal Probe: I Acted In Nigeria’s Interest – Okonjo- Iweala by ehissi(m): 12:01pm On Dec 12, 2015 |
First, all this arms probe is a miscalculation as far as APC & Buhari are concerned & at the end of the day; it will only backfire & the Ordinary Nigerians will be the victims. Men like Buhari, Osibanjo, Tinubu & the rest have enough diplomatic & political capital to protect & shield themselves & their families unlike ordinary Nigerians who may have nothing but the same government that is just recklessly handling it affairs under the present administration just so that it can be seen to be working - work without a solid plan or clear policy direction!! Everyone who is conversant with the affairs of this country; does not need to be reminded that for the greater part of the Jonathan administration, arms for the Nigerian military were purchased through unofficial channels - a situation that was created by the current ruling party when they were still in the opposition, when the first wave of attacks against boko haram were initiated & they succeeded with help of ignorant Nigerians in politicising the Boko haram war. News archives are filled with stories of statements made by Chieftains both of Northern and southern descent in the opposition accusing the Jonathan administration of genocide & ethnic bias against Northerners in different quarters! The result of which, most developed nations refused to sell arms, under various legal codes to what was believed to be a government using military might to oppress its citizens or a government accused to be training snipers to shutup opposition because it didn't want to hand over power. All of which were just lies, at least buhari's swearing in leaves no one in doubt!! Question, is it possible to buy arms - or anything for that matter - on the black market through due process?? Does it even make sense for someone to legally do an illegal thing - because technically, buying arms on the black market is illegal, abi?? First, consider the damage that such an open probe will cost the Nigerian government in terms of capital within the intelligence community - locally and internationally!! I said open probe because there's nothing that says buhari shouldn't know what happened during the arms purchase, but discretion should have been the watch word!! But because they want to be seen to be working & also the person who was at the helm of affairs is an arch-nemesis - at least we all know dasuki was sent by Babangida to kick buhari out of Dodan barracks in 1984 - you create a press buffet with anti-corruption being the theme!! The same government is travelling everywhere looking for help to handle terrorism, its the same government that doesn't know when to shutup and when to keep quiet!! On the second end; I belong to a school of thought that doesn't see corruption as our Nation's problem!! Corruption is a global phenomenon & as long as human beings are at the helm of affairs there will be corruption; even in China were death sentence exists there is still corruption!! We just have 2 problems and no administration wants to address them head on because they are capital intensive and they put politicians in a weak position!! Address them and we are set for development!! Problem one is education; not the junk that the 6-3-3-4 has become because of the errors of including it under UBE's port-folio!! Education that's meant to arm Nigerian kids with technical, sell-able skills by JS3 as well as provide them with the right civil information to function in a democratic Nigeria!! By JS3, a child should already have a skillset, by SS3 a child should already know where his/her life is heading and what he/she wants to do with his/her life!! The second is a vibrant, robust and properly positioned and independent judiciary that is easily accessible to the average Nigerian!! I will rather have all the billions in subsidy channelled to subsidise Nigerians judiciary cost than petroleum cost; this is why a politician can steal #10bn and go to jail for just 2years and he is out but an average Nigerian will go to jail for #25year for stealling #200,000 why?? Where money to pay lawyer to read and prepare for cases?? Nigeria is the only country I know, where a woman will report at a police station that her husband is using iron rods to beat her and police will tell her to go home and settle with her husband because it is a domestic case, then when he don kill the woman finish they will step in say na murder case!! Does this even make any sense!!?? The role of the Judiciary is to protect citizens through the enforcement of law!! Concerning corruption, if the average Nigerian, who is educated & know his/her right; find himself in a situation where corruption is about to trample on his/her right & has easy access to the judiciary, what is stopping him from taking advantage of the law!! Or a corrupt politician knows that the minute he/she removes a pin from government house/treasury; the average Nigerian is educated enough to filter politics away from administration & put him in jail using an independent judiciary; why steal?? Instead of crying probe everytime a new administration comes into town!! Or crying probe everytime one tabloid or newspaper shout billions being looted in the papers! I believe these 2 are enough to solve the problems of development and corruption instead of all these noise..... |

BeeBeeOoh:yes it is! Corruption is the main problem facing nigeria. Monies meant for arms procurement to fight insurgency in the north have been diverted and pocketed by few and gallant but ill equipped soldiers were called cowards. If these rogues are not punished public officers will be encouraged to steal and the country will not progress. He is trying to clean up a rotten system and you are here whining, i don't even know what is wrong with some of us in this country. |
Re: Arms Deal Probe: I Acted In Nigeria’s Interest – Okonjo- Iweala by nduchucks: 12:15pm On Dec 12, 2015 |
obinto: Have you established with 100% certainty that neither GEJ nor NOI was aware of any plan to divert the funds as we are now told by Dasuki and others? I have news for you, if you think NOI will succeed in throwing GEJ under the bus without any repercusion, then you are on a very loooong tin. Wait until the real trials begin and witnesses start revealing additional evidence to cover their asses. For now, you only have enough evidence to convince yourself that NOI and GEJ did not participate in these crimes (I suspect you belong to the tribe of the usual suspects ). Lets see what comes out in court. It is irresponsible to conclude that NOI or GEJ is not part of this great crime at this time. May the chips fall where they may, when all is said and done. |

janellemonae:And you think I give a fvck about Jonathan? ..See, the real issue here is that some ediotic elements in APC are trying to so hard to tag this woman with this arms deal saga. The woman gave a detailed explanation on how the FEC agreed to use the Abacha's loot. They agreed to use some for security issues while the rest will be used on developmental infrastructure. The first part returned which was the $323M or there about which we are talking about was channeled to security as agreed by FEC and the security council while the expected $700M will be used on infrastructure. The woman simply released the money to ONSA as agreed and she showed you the documents...So tell me what all this noise that she diverted Abacha loot all about if not to tarnish her image? She has explained all this things several times and you guys keep disturbing.. Now they said that she released money not appropriated by NASS and I asked, the one released by Buhari to governors and the $100M he donated to MNJTF, was it appropriated by NASS? Instead of you guys to focus on Dasuki and his goons to know if the money was used for what it is meant for, rather you chose to keep attacking the woman with this recycled tails ...That is my point. 1 Like 1 Share |

These common thieves will continue to be unrepentant as long as they sense that their "likes" abound still! It is sad that some still drum up support for these people. How can one be in charge of a boutique and claim not to know how the wears that have been declared stolen was found on neighbors and indeed around the neighborhood? To those who would question the probe of major players in the last administration be sincere and respond tho this; assuming u left home intact but returned to find out that your sparkling apartment had been ransacked & turned upsidedown by ARMed Robbers! What would you do? Na 2 quickly microwave food chop 1st, abi mk u turn on tv watch football... Not so?? All we are going through 2day is as a result of the foolishness of the ppl that had given the country false hope of a "booming economy" while they squander the little that ought to have been salvaged. They weren't making money for the country but spending from what was availabe! We all will have to suffer the consequences @ some point. I am waiting for Ngozi Okonjo Iweala to give account. All those that played to the gallery because GEJ was not just grossly incapable of leading this nation but also benefited from the great bazaar! Now that power has CHANGEd hands, let the once sleeping but now half awake law take its course. If WE can all be suffering the rippling effect of their misdeeds, surely there must be consequences! |
