northvietnam:Why write in English, is English our mother tongue? Why not in Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo. If we can't allow it written in Arabic then we shouldn't allow it English too according to your saying. Dwindle on this kind of matter can not push us forward. Moreover not all Arabic inscriptions are Islamic. |

ODUBEZE:Listen to this without any form of bias, or bigotry...lets educate ourselves The reason y one needs to attend special classes to be able to speak and understand arabic is because its not a language one is familiar with from birth.. In oda to understand, u av to learn. U cant juz wake up tomoro and start speaking spanish, u av to attend special classes for it....same goes for arabic, its a language on its own... U also need ppl to translate french for u b4 u understand, dont u? Lets come down to our national level, i guess ure igbo...if someone speaks hausa, im sure u wouldnt understand...u need someone to translate it. Arabic is a language spoken mostly by muslims internationaly, dat doesnt mean arabic is an islamic language... Jesus spoke hebrew, dat doesnt mean hebrew is a language belonging to christians likewise... Lets juz stop the hate...i hope ure able to understand me.. Peace. |

If Nigerians were living in peace and unity, this wouldn't be an issue! But we are so disunited..... Every ethnicity wants to be represented... Yoruba will tell igbos to go to their villages yet they want to marry their daughters, igbos will be clamouring for secession yet they haven't made their safe havens safe for them..... Hausa with their born to rule mentality but not educated enough to rule..... Then the minority feels cheated and why are they even labeled Minority at first? Honestly I weep in prayers daily and I want the will of God to happen soon for this country..... 1 Like |

3moses:Well, maybe you didnt read my post till the end. I'm not in support of it too. But, you should knw that we use several other languages including Latin and Greek too on several occasions. However, you have to give it up for those inscription in the currency. Its not Arabic, its Ajami (ancient Native Hausa) that is usually written in arabic letters. Just like I could write your name in Arabic and it would still be pronounced 3moses and meaningless in arabic. 1 Like |

zeetyzin:my dear I am not in doubt! Arabic is a language! but when it comes to national issues bothering to this country, why use a language not common to all? but a particular religion? Instead why not write in Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba! Arabic is not explainable! we were not even colonized by them! without being bias, it is not justifiable! --- Is like in a school setting in Nigeria, where you have people speaking different languages then you choose to address them in French! is French a language common to all Nigerians? --- The person can be pardoned if he/she is not a Nigerian in which a translator will translate in a general language! no hatred intended but fact! I have Muslims as friends! |

opey25:Latin is more of a "universal" language. Its like a lingua franca of the world. like the one on the One Cent of the USA. But this, this is Nigeria for fvck sakes, you don't expect a country of diverse ethnicity and religions to use what others think is a "religious language" (which is not far from the truth) on national emblems and the national currency (I think the currency ish is no more there) |
Re: Meaning Of The Arabic Word On Nigerian Army Logo by zeetyzin(m): 2:01pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
ODUBEZE:Well, i cant say much abt that, if i start stating reasons, itll gradually become a religious argument(which i tink it is already), nd m not a fan of such arguments...im sure it was put there for reasons other than religion...i rest my case |
