Job Title: Staff Nurse

Location: a) Benin

Reporting to: The role in Benin will report to the Nursing Officer, Benin, whilst the role in Lagos will report to the                            Corporate  Nursing Manager

Purpose of Role/Context/Scope

To ensure and maintain healthcare service that produces a workforce that is physically, mentally and socially fit to optimise work performance and increase profitability 

Context:
Guinness Nigeria has three major locations in Lagos, Benin and Aba.

Lagos
(a) Ikeja Clinic runs only day shift and opens from 8a.m. - 5p.m. (Monday – Friday)

(b) Ogba Brewery Clinic operates 24hours coverage.

Benin
(c) Benin Brewery has a functional clinic on site and operates 24 hours coverage

Scope:
Working environments can be hazardous; illness and accidents may occur any time in the course of work, therefore, Occupational Health Service offers strict supervision and enforcement of safe working practices to minimise occurrence of accidents at the workplace.

It involves the application of professional principles in developing and carrying out nursing service tailored to the changing environment as well as staff needs.

  Key Accountabilities
Ø Patient care, management and treatment
Ø Procedural measurement/monitoring of key indices in patients’ condition (vital signs) etc.
Ø Periodic medical examination of staff to ensure optimal level of performance
Ø Attending to emergencies within the brewery
Ø Maintain high standard sanitation in clinic and environs, and ensure regular fumigation

Financial
Ø Carry out stock taking as directed
Ø Effective maximization of drug administration.
Ø Ensure timely maintenance and apprropriate utilization of Medical equipment.
Ø Establish prompt and accurate diagnosis, and render corresponding appropriate treatment
.


Market Complexity
Effective Management and co-ordination of staff health outlook with the corresponding reduction in health related issues in order to produce a sound and viable workforce capable of realising set goals and standards as prescribed by Diageo.

Functional Capabilities:
Ø Dispensing medication/medicament as per prescription.
Ø Ability to safely operate and maintain basic medical equipments in clinic.
Ø Serve as effective feed-back link between patients and clinic management for enhanced health service delivery.
Ø Generate and collate data for clinic records.
Ø Handle emergency situations in the absence of a superior.

Qualifications and Experience Required
1. Internationally recognised professional certification in Nursing.
2. Registration with Nursing Council of Nigeria
3. Valid and current practising licence.
4. Accident and Emergency Nursing Certificate.
5. Possess 7years of post qualification experience in nursing practice; not less than 2years working experience in a similar industry.
6. Knowledge of Occupational Health Nursing will be an advantage.
7. Computer literacy is mandatory.
