WAEC Considers Using CBT For Objective (OBJ) Questions Come 2016 by Ekesmall(m): 5:17pm On Dec 18, 2015 |
The West African Examinations Council ( WAEC) is considering making use of Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode of examinations for objective questions . Head, National Office of WAEC in Lagos, Mr Olutise Adenipekun disclosed this in an interview while announcing the 2015 November/ December examination results » on Thursday. He said that, due to the current technology trends, it makes sense that this mode of examination might be the next course of action for the board. NAN reports that the council is pursuing this with vigour and is looking toward its realisation soon. Adenipekun added that this means that teachers will be trained on the new processes and procedures to standardised tests. He said that the process would expose the Nigerian child to the benefits of information and communication technology, which was currently driving national economies. NAN recalls that the former National head » , Mr Charles Eguridu, in August, admitted that WAEC does not have any plans » to introduce the CBT mode. Eguridu had said that it would amount to “intellectual dishonesty’’ for him to say that the council would introduce CBT in the next five years or the near future. Sources : www.ekesplanet.com |
