I'm dumbfounded to say the least. Don't know whose side of the story to believe but I can confirm that the practice of getting married in Nigeria and facilitating the wife's relocation abroad is usually counter productive.

Sometimes, one feels like the best approach is for Nigeria diaspora men to just get a woman abroad who are already used to life and the lopsided laws favouring women at their place of resident than bring in someone who's alien to such extant laws.

I feel pity for Nigerian men settled abroad who are faced with the quagmire of either marrying home or manage the idiosyncrasy of the spoilt and ill-mannered ladies bereft of family values in Western world.

I have read few stories like this where the woman set his husband up by telling the jury he rape the daughter. So am not surprised.

I believe the man did not commit the crime,because if he has done that when the defence lawyer ask him to take a plea bargain he would have done that to lighten his sentence but he refuse that he would rather go to jail than to admit committing the crime he did not perpetrated.

A lot of comment here are implying it's a set up and the man never committed the offence. I think such conclusion is premature as we don't have the detail information of what transpired. For all we know, the man might be guilty and the plaintiff must have thoroughly examined the case to arrive at this verdict.

Be that as it may, I believe we should look beyond the surface and handle this kind of problem from it source by evaluating the importance of marrying from Nigeria and bring this women abroad. There are countless cases of Nigerian wives who turn out a monster after their arrival in Britain and the West. Even as there are some which pans out well.

The laws here demands the man to leave his home for his wife whenever there's a dispute to forestall violence and provocative reaction. A woman can just wake up, dial the cops and allege verbal or physical abuse and the cops will come kick you out of your home. A house you struggled to acquire.

Just reading this narration, l have seen a lot of instances pointing to the fact that his wife brainwashed his daughter, to say these bad things about her father... but the God of Heaven who knows the heart of men, will punish this woman beyond measure, for destroying an innocent man's life..... the same man who laboured to bring you abraoad, to improve your living standard

If a man/woman notices that their dates/lovers have some terrible attitudes and still goes on with getting married to such kinda person, then the grave is fast dug.. I can't believe the daughter would even go to such extent (if the man's innocent of the rapè/inbreeding charges), it's disheartening..
