Impeccable sources very close to the former Senate President, Sen David Mark who was sent packing from the National Assembly by the Court of Appeal for rigging the 2015 senatorial elections will formally
inform his party the PDP of his intention not to partake in the rerun election against the candidate of the APC, Comrade Daniel Onjeh whois greatly favoured to win the election.
The letter conveying his decision to withdraw will be presented to the Chairman on the PDP on Wednesday next week.
Our usual reliable sources informed us that David Mark is jittery over the overwhelming support and good will his rival in the APC enjoys in the Zone.
David Mark has completely lost out in the scheme of things in the political landscape of the country following the humiliating defeat of his party the PDP. With the defeat, Sen. Mark has become a bench
warmer and a very good observer who has not made any meaningful contribution on the floor of the Senate. He is not a member of any committee in the senate as such his continued stay will be of no use to the people of Zone C.
Another reason for his withdrawal according to sources is the nature of the people of Zone C who never indulge in opposition politics. For many observers, Sen Mark has been mentioned in the Dasuki Looting for receiving 10.7billion according to an online news agency.
His arraignment and subsequent trial might begin soon. Most voters in the zone have stated that they will not vote for some one accused
of Corruption who might be prosecuted.
Meanwhile, the entry of Daniel Onjeh into Otukpo today was greeted with overwhelming support.
The people of the zone thronged in their numbers to catch a glimpse and listen to the man of the people address his constituency.
Men and women, young and old, all left their schedules to listen to the young man on whose shoulders the destiny of the zone rest.
Most of the people interviewed were full of praises for Comrade Daniel Onjeh and promised to mobilise the people to vote for him and protect their votes since he was contesting against a serial election rigger.
Speaking further, the people confirmed that unlike Sen Mark who hired and paid people from other parts of the state and even near by states to his occasion, the large crowd of people at today’s occasion
were true supporters of the Comrade senator in the waiting.
Recall that when Sen Mark made his entry into Otukpo, the people that accompanied him from Abuja to Otukpo were more than the miserably small number of the voters in zone C. Who are angry with him for not representing them properly at the Senate all these years.
They are particularly angry with the lies of the creation of APA state amongst others. With the expected withdrawal of Senator Mark next week
Wednesday, Comrade Daniel Onjeh will sure be declared unopposed
by INEC.
