If this is true, then it's very shameless of the tanker driver and his accomplice. According to a report posted by a Facebook user, this driver and his conductor were seen along Lokoja-Abuja expressway -pouring water into a fuel laden Conoil tanker (with reg no; XA 324 GBJ) on Friday, Dec 18. He did seemed to be emptying something into the tanker. How it was confirmed to be water is debatable, though. Does he siphon a certain amount of petrol, then replace it with equal amount of water? |

Please note,it is true that they put water in tanker carrying kerosene not Fuel, if the Tank is leaking they will put gallons of water in the kerosene tank to protect the Kerosene from wasting before they get to their destination,the water will settle under the Tank while the Kerosene will be up, now the water will be leaking instead of the Kerosene. 3 Likes |

Water is used to block leakages especially dirty water. It never mixes with the fuel. At the point of discharge the buyer must check and drain away the water before ullage. There's no way the driver can use it to cheat. |

@opps, water is normally added if a tank is leaking so the product won't waste much. Pls don't criticise tanker drivers unnecessarily |
