Abisam Farms is a private family run farm with its origins firmly place in the village of Imesi-Ile, Osun State. The farm owners are seeking to expand their farming endeavours across Nigeria, with an initial pilot taking place in Oyo State. Subsequently the organisation is seeking a dynamic farm manager to assist with the development, implementation, and day to day management of it Oyo State plantation.
The successful applicant will be have to opportunity to develop the a multitude of skill across various agricultural areas; assist in the development and strengthening of an ambitious agricultural brand; and the chance to enhance skills across other family projects including property, mining and education. The successful applicant will also have significant travel opportunities.

Responsibilities and duties
• General management
The successful applicant will be responsible for negotiating the budget with relevant stakeholders. The successful applicant will also be responsible for ensuring that all projects are kept within budget, and that the plantation is kept in good working order
This applicant will also have the task of setting the strategic aims of the plantation, and providing updates to relevant stakeholders
• Marketing and sales
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing a market presence in the Oyo State area, and enhancing brand reputation. In addition to this they will have to source both local and national distribution channels for the produced developed on the farm
• Procurement
The successful applicant will be required to source seeds; fertiliser, and other equipment needed at competitive prices.
• Recruitment and development
The successful applicant play a part in recruiting additional staff to assist in working on the farm, and keeping it in good repair. The successful applicant will have a responsibility in ensuring that these staff are adequately trained to carry out the required works, and that additional training is provided as and when needed
• Reporting and monitoring
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the quality of yield, making sure that products are ready for deadlines, such as auctions and markets. Keeping financial accounts of all purchasing, and preparing progress reports for stakeholders on a quarterly basis.
• Legislative requirements
The successful applicant will also be responsible for ensuring that all State and National agricultural law applicable to the Oyo plantation are adhered to.
Selection Criteria Essential
Significant experience working in an agricultural environment Managerial experience
Proven track record of working with a team
Strong communication skills
Hard worker Fluent Yoruba
Desirables
Marketing and brand development experience Qualified to degree level or equivalent
Oyo State local
Report writing experience
