D prob nw is I Ws asked to b comin once a month which is OK for me but I stay in d east nw I don't kw weda to find work in ABJ which is close to minna and stay Der or go back home and b doing Ntin @ home. But in abj I gat to find accommodation der. Pls gv me ur advice weda to go back home or look for temp jobs in abj to do.merry xmas y'all

Let's see; I'v two propositions for you
1) go to Abuja and get a temporary job; by doing this you won't be idle, you will have an extra source of income and a chance to garner work experience
2) Or you could go back to the east and seek employment there, that way you won't spend much since it's where you are based.
Remember to pay tithe to me

So what was your plan when you decided to 'exempt' yourself from the service? By the way, is your LI asking you to come once a month for free?

This is a disgrace! the way I see it, it's just like saying "I just killed somebody, how do I hide the body?". Please, going once a month is illegal and unethical. If you want to do stuff like this, at least don't post it on the internet. This is one of the reasons NYSC should be scrapped, because now the government will be paying you an allowance for a job you are not doing.

You need to go back and get a work in Minna!

Accommodation there ain't that bad and don't defeat the aim of the NYSC programme.

Brother, it is mind-boggling, to put it mildly.
In the 90s and early 2000s, if a high school cert holder writes this way, it would be such a scandal.
As it is now, university graduates who could barely string a sentence together are getting churned out everyday.

I think you are very correct. I mean starting from their camp, some are so dirty with no water, let alone the food they give to you - nonsense! The staff themselves have so corrupted the system. Like Ogun state that I was, the staff there are so tribalised: just be able to speak Yoruba and you'll have your way. Give them some money and you'll be posted to anywhere of your choice while 90% Corp members are posted to mushroom schools scattered in every street. I wouldn't even want to talk about how these so-called schools select Corp members that should be in their schools and then reject others (because NYSC post more than what they needed) while the burden here is always mostly on the female Corp members. They have so taken advantage of the system such that many of them now open schools primarily to run it with Corp members (90%) and few (10%) permanent staff. The scheme to me is a total failure and I'll encourage anybody that can press to have his way to do so.
