I am opening this thread with the intent of creating a forum where broiler farmers can share input about the key performance indices
for profitable broiler production. After 3 year in the egg production business, I have decided to go into broiler production come January 2016 as a means of generating additional income and because of the short term nature .

I would like experienced farmers who are already into broiler production to come contribute so that every one can benefit.

I got 20broiler 4weeks ago from yammfy hatchery in kwara state feeding them with top feed broiler starter and they are weighing 1.6kg 1.5kg 1.8kg randomly

did you get them as DOC or at 4 weeks?, because broilers are supposed to weigh 1kg at 4 weeks.

This thread was specifically opened so we can pool knowledge and resources together so as to be profitable in broiler farming. I have been into the layer business for the past 3 years because it is the easiest and seemingly more profitable. you really don't need to market your product, your customers come to you and in most cases begging to get eggs (although there can be glut sometimes).

Another look at the short term nature of broiler farming got me thinking that there exist huge potential in this venture. You should be through with a circle in maximum 8 weeks, the profit seem marginal but the fact that you can do this continuously all year round make it worth while.

Just go to a nearby vet pharmacy and ask for fatener when I get home I will send the name I usually mix it with multivitamin. But be ready to feed them like elephant and they drink like 10L of water daily

many people still use charcoal, probably still the cheapest.

besides d cost advantage compardtively,wat methord gives overal best result 4rm ur gud experience

Kudos to you guy here but my own issue here is i leave in ibadan and i need link on those who buy 6-8weeks broilers in bulk. I have some that will be due for harvest in 5weeks. I have been using a particular link but the contact is no longer available. Thanks great farmers!!!!

Based on which grows fastest, i would say all broiler strain ve been genetically induce to grow very fast. Some farmers i ve asked on which dat as low FCR, they ve always been in favour arbor acre. However, if u still get other strain from a reputable farm, with good managerial skill u can still get awesome result

I called zartech to ask about their breed of broiler, they confirmed that they have Cobb and arbor Acre , I then asked which grows faster, they confirmed that the Cobb grows faster.

I called Higriteck and also made inquiries of their breed, they confirmed that they have Ross and that it is the best.

I am confused here.

All the breeds you mentioned are good. But i believe arbor acre is the best. With proper management you could have an average life weight of 2.8 @ 6 weeks.

We are in owerri too but building a Mega farm in Emene, Enugu State. A 1000 broiler and 2000 layers capacity farm with 5000 units Capacity Fish Farms.
