Its really a big shame! Nigeria has probably the largest number of churches in the world yet we are so wicked and corrupt!

It is actually an indictment on the so called "men of God" who abound in all nooks and crannies of the country. Rubbish

You are 1000% on point, you said it the way it is, may God bless you real good. I once said something like this, concerning 100,000 capacity auditorium, some religious bigoters and churchgoers reacted negatively, I repeatedly said that religion is not our problems, erecting mosques and churches can't solve our single problem, check the number of Churches /mosques in an area, imagine if those places happens to be factories or industries,? That area must witness a tremendous transformation, free of vices and norms.....because people are gainfully engaged.... Let's remove the clog of rreligionism and self-centered ness, for us to grow temporally and physically.

May God bless everyone.

Am surprised you are asking this question, you have shunned your religion a long time ago if you didn't know, Christianity and Islam was given to us by the white supremacy, and some use it to brain wash people.

This is the world's longest ocean bridge located in China. It spans 26 miles (60 kilometers) and took four years to build. It cost more than $1.5 billion to complete and has a life expectancy of 100 years. Now, ask our leaders to build this bridge in Nigeria and we will go bankrupt. Second Niger Bridge in Onitsha that is a mere 1.5 kilometers (about one mile) is costing over N100 billion naira, that is over $500 million dollars at N190 to $1. Nigerians, please let us invite China to come and build fourth mainland bridge in Lagos and other bridges and let us pay toll for 100 years. The same China built 30,000 megawatts of electricity at $29 billion. We have spent over $50 billion on darkness.

Chinese don't have mosques and churches scattered all over the place, they don't have the "all powerful pastors" that we have to pray them to their promise lands. They have no "daddy" or "mummy" or "daddy GOs". Yet, many of us deceive ourselves "praying", "casting" and "binding", looking for miracles, hawking miracles, signs and wonders and thinking that one day "God will help us". Before you talk with an average Nigerian, he tells you "by God's grace". What that means, I do not know. We steal, cheat, kill, discriminate and on Fridays and Sundays, we flock to mosques and churches, paying 10 per cent of our loot to some funny characters called men of God. Worse still we get over $2.1 billion and distribute, yet we die as a nation, we are rotten, it seems as if we are at the precipise....... Shame on this nation!

Good post, but religion got nothing to do with our poverty. Lack of knowledge of science is. As a matter of fact, China is a highly religious country, but not the religions you know. They do have theirs.

Major religions in China are:- Taoism , Confucianism, and Buddhism. More than 80% of Chinese identify themselves as a member of either of these religions.

The US is also a highly successful religious nation. I'm sure you know "in God we trust" as their national motto. Up until 2008 it was compulsory to have the Bible "ten commandments" hanging on the wall of every school and classroom. It's still hanging in many private schools today in the USA!.

I don't want to talk about South Korea and Japan. However, it may interest you to know South Korea have recently banned the teaching of "evolution theory" in schools throughout Korea, instead they were considering replacing it with the teaching of "creationism" as at the time I got the information.

How about Israel?. Up to 81% of its citizens identify with Judaism!.

Western education is the root cause of our poverty, and there are too many reasons why. They've been explained in details in part 1 and 2 of the link on my signature.

This is saddening.

Nigeria has the potential to be the type of country that makes products... The same way everything is Made in China, we have the potential to be the same. We have the population and so many jobless. We have all the people that make shoes, make clothes, make so many different things, but these are marketed as fake or 'Aba'.

Why can't we empower people like these? Why can't we start exporting goods instead of importing everything?

It all starts with our government, but at the same time, we all need to change. The Nigerian mentality is a bad one.

Typical of the op. I expected his usual grumpy, insolent style......and I wasn't disappointed. And he professed he is a medic, bla bla bla. This type can beat a patient who is not responding fast and positively to his treatment..... grin

And by the way, this same thread with exactly the same content have already been established on Nl by another person. Answer this question as sweetly as possible.
