The KINGDOM MINDSET
* You Can Tame It.
There's so much distractions, and an unending trials and temptations in our world today that wants to shape you to their mold, but you don't have to succumb to them.

There are desires in you that seems to give a high attraction to those temptations around you and that's really where you must work on. You might not be able to stop the distractions around nor avoid the trials but you can choose to resist them from the inside so that none of them becomes desirable to you. James 1:14-15 says " Each person is tempted by his own desire, being lured and trapped by it. When that desire becomes pregnant, it gives birth to sin; and when that sin grows up, it gives birth to death"

Please note that this is much more than your actions but it's about the business of your heart. Jesus said "You have heard that it was said, ‘You are not to commit adultery. But I say to you, anyone who stares at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matt.5:27-28.
The real deal here is the atrocities of the heart - lust, envy, bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy and the likes. We might not be able to see you do it but God sees and will relate to the dispositions of your heart not only your actions.

Now don't be too quick to think you can decide just by yourself to no more respond to the advances of the distractions around, you're not just that strong. Apostle Paul gives us the answer to that in Gal. 5:6, " But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh"
Walking in the Spirit doesn't mean you now start floating in the air. It means to change your focus from the flesh to the spirit, Paul also says in Gal.5:22-23, " But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The attributes of the spirit are fruits and that's why you can't do it on your own. The word of God is the seed, your heart is the ground and the fruits is that of the Spirit....once you start focusing on living by the spirit, you automatically start killing the desires of the flesh in you and your disposition will tend towards living for God and His Kingdom. God bless you!
