No Federal Government in the history of Nigeria has been as fair as the current APC government under Buhari in terms of distribution of scarce appointments in the midst of endless tribal demands.
In the last GEJ administration, Yorubas had reasons to feel marginalised. The guy gave us State Minister for the FCT, State Minister for Defence, Communications, Police Affairs.......he once gave us Foreign but collected it back from Ogun state and I can't remember when he gave Ogun anything again until his government winded up. SW was turned to a jungle in terms of federal presence, Jonathan did not commission a SINGLE PROJECT in the SW during his 6 years stay in Aso Rock!!!
While I will not blame GEJ too much, OBJ's 8 years in Aso Rock too did not bring anything in particular to the SW.
16 years of the PDP government only made SW a battleground for political supremacy. The rigging of the 2003 general elections, the Omisore/Afenifere Conspiracy, the killing of Bola Ige(who served under the Pdp), killing of AD, Killing of Funsho Williams(Who left the AD to join PDP)....
As if that was not enough, Lagos fund was withheld by a the PDP government for about 4 years. Now, this is where I'm going...... Has this ever happened to any other state before 4 years!!! The same PDP who tagged him corrupt are the same evil who gave him nothing in 4 years!!!!
The lesson here is this: FG has not been developing anywhere as such especially under democratic dispensation. The most developed city in the SW is Lagos, it was a former colonial headquarters, the whitemen chose Lagos on their own....they knew what they saw in the city....no one forced them. FG took the capital away from Lagos due to congestion and took it to NC, abandoned the FG structures to rotten away. It was Lagos State government that made Lagos what it is today. Lagos would've become a riverine slum and a shadow of civilisation. Tinubu brought good governance, led Lagos to prosperity, handed over to a brilliant successor who took Lagos to the greatest heights ever in history and then now Fashola successor will not be allowed to rest one bit, he must perform better than his predecessors!!! That's the spirit that drives Lagos....No FG is driving Lagos. Ogunlewe, Obanikoro and Aganga were ministers from Lagos, tell me what they brought to Lagos NOTHING.....OBJ too....NOTHING!!!! JONATHAN too... NOTHING......
Ibadan is next to Lagos.....Awolowo built it not FG.....Cocoa House, Television, Liberty Stadium etc... were all built by Awolowo. Awolowo gave us Free education not FG!!! Bola Ige built because(State Broadcasting Corporation), he gave us free education, buit roads.....Today, Ajimobi brought the first dual carriageway to my home town in Oyo, he did same to Iseyin and other towns. Aregbesola is building infrastructures in Osun against all odds.....he was not deterred, he knows posterity will be on his side......Fayemi was a fantastic governor. He changed the face of Ekiti.
Now, go to Ogun state today under Amosun, he has turned Abeokuta to a modern city buiding and constructing.....raising the IGR...
Kwankwanso works in Kano are there for all to see.....we saw the hand of Akpabio in Akwa Ibom, Oshiomole in Edo and of course the giant strides of Amaechi in Rivers.
Every region must look inwards to answer the question of marginalisation....... No one is marginalising anyone...... Why will Abia keep voting for Ochendo when all he does is NOTHING! What was the actual impact of GEJ in the SE apart from making a few selfish individuals become stupendously rich?? Any region that refuse to let its charity begins at home but always thinking that only the FG can save it is a joke!!! Put pressure on your governors and stop celebrating mediocrity. As long as you believe that your state money can be squandered and your elected officials must not be called to question.....that's your business. Anambra governor Obiano is really trying.......Okorocha brought real governance to the East but you hate him because he is not PDP! Una never suffer!! Despite the widely acclaimed performance of Ngige as governor, he was ran out of town because he is APC. Today, Mbaka is being called names for saying the truth.
Who is marginalising who
In a region where individual ambitions are promoted far above regional cause, there can never be development. When a group of people hate to hear the truth because of ego.......hmmmmm.
No one can marginalise SW, we have been taught by Awolowo to be self sufficient without really causing troubles. We always tackle our governors......see Ambode....we woke him up by force.....he must develop lagos. Ajimobi must develop Oyo, Aregbesola must develop Osun and Amosun must develop Ogun.
While you're helping us to celebrate Fayose, koro, George etc, we are battling them, we don't appreciate lunatics managing our affairs....We don't play our politics like that. We have a leader......tested trusted and strong.........
Watch out for Ondo.....SW will get it back. You too can go home and stop electing idiots!!!

Marginalization? Are their elected officials' from other parts of the country? , will it not be same band of bandits that will be in charge of their affairs if by chance their utopia is realised?

Still wondering how that word became their motto!!!

they will always run away from the truth. The seaports down south are all shut down and the int'l airports there are under heavy restrictions. The SE have 5 states, single lane bridge connecting the SE to other parts of Nigeria. That is why we are shouting marginalisation. Give us 6 states(create anioma and cede to SE) open the seaports down south, open our int'l airports with no restrictions and give us 2nd Niger bridge and nobody will shout marginalisation.

you write up was good until I saw "okoroacha brought good governance to the east" then I knew all you wrote was based on sentiments as an apc supporter, how do u define good governance.

in the east u mention the likes of Sullivan chime, peter obi, even ngige before u think of mentioning okorocha, when u talk about good governance. u even mentioned aregbesola, as one of good governance workers, smh, there is just a slight difference between rochas and rauf, one is good at doing charitable works and not fit for governance, why the other misplaced priorities is on the high and also not fit for governance.

APC zombie on the loose...

Wetyn concern you, sw can't feel marginalised that's good. We acknowledge that so well.

But SEners are marginalised not that they can't live good and developed their economy and tax the governors to work but the present position in the SE need not be where it is right now which is behind our expectation.

Quota system, state deficiency, closing of other ports in Nigeria, unfavorable market policies are certain things when we look at we feel pained answering Nigeria.

Which president will let a region of his country cry and complain for them to be represented equally?

And if you say why we didn't scream thus in Gej tenure. I will tell you Gej started a confab report to address such issues from every regions in the country.

And if you say why we are screaming in the present dispensation, I will tell you that Buhari came and thrashed the confab report without thoughts of starting new one. And you expect the IGBO'S not to complain for the betterment of their region?

You must be a joker....
