Do you know that most lexus vehicles are made in the same line with Toyota camry[their parent company]? Lexus ES300 and Toyota camry are manufactured in the same factory, use almost the same parts same transmission, same accesories, and engine but different names yet one is about $15K more expensive than the other. The VW phaeton, Audi A8 and Bentley are made in the same factory but the Bentley cost about $100K more. Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe are the same cars with two different names for marketing. The matrix is about $2k more expensive than the Pontiac vibe. Can you now see that you are paying for car logo instead of quality? Why pay more for names alone? |

Prestige car brands cost more because they simply reflects/represent high quality and massive reliability. |

Aloy.Emeka: Because theres more to just a name. The VW photeaon was a financial disaster because of its name. As technologically advanced as it was, ppl balked at paying over $100,000 for a VW! Wrap the same engineering with a Bentley body, then everyone including their mother will be falling over themselves to get one. If you are a "Super Agent" selling multi million dollar homes in somewhere like Newport Beach or any of the Exclusive coast community in California. You wanna show a home, will you rather show up in a VW or Bentley? ![]() Some of these deals might stretch for months while all kinks/legal wranglings are being worked out. Lunch, golf games, leisure drives to treat the potential clients. All in a VW or Camry? For something like a $10-15 million deal? At the end of the day, most of these spending is under business expense. So rather than pay $1 million in taxes and lease a Toyota, why not pay like $850,000 in taxes and lease a Bentley? ![]() ![]() Will you honestly hand ur money over or do business with someone that looks "desperate/hungry" if you are the client? ![]() Image is sometimes everything! Its better to look good than feel good (At least as far as Glitz, Glamour and Hollywood goes). ![]() |

At the end of the day, most of these spending is under business expense. So rather than pay $1 million in taxes and lease a Toyota, why not pay like $850,000 in taxes and lease a Bentley? Most high end cars are never bought cash! (At least, here in the U.S) Even if they could afford it. Rich people are rich for a reasonSo it's the foolish Africans that pay for these cars?. I know for sure that Asians(apart from middle easterners) don't have time for luxury cars and since Europeans and Americans seldom buy it, the only real market they have middle east and Africa. Russians love to cruise on expensive cars too, do they also lease theirs?. Go to Moscow and see for yourself. |

Aloy.Emeka: Not really. The banking system in Africa especially is not very strong. Unlike here. I dont know any bank that will let you lease a Bentley. The road might ruin the car that it will be worthless after lease ends. Loss for the bank. Until the banks have a strong capital base, i guess its cash and carry for now. |
