how does this trash change the price of fuel.

It may not change the price of fuel in the short run, but it will change your mindset in the short run, which will change the price of fuel in the long run.

But you have not told us what Zik did after he failed to become premier in the West

He went to the East to also push aside the Efik man that had been designated as the Premier of the East

So?

What is the difference between what YOU ACCUSE Awo of and what Zik did?

There's a big difference between Awolowo winning independent candidates to his party, and Zik ostracizing the Efik man who was already designated for the job of head of government in the Eastern region.

Awo out strategized Zik in the West
Zik used his position as NCNC party leader to rig out the Efik man.

It is a known fact that Awolowo was prepared to work with Zik, in fact he had asked Zik if they could form a Government together, but Zik prefered Ahmadu Bello. Why do you think people then referred to Zik as the beautiful bride. Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello were sworn enemies hence Awo was jailed in the 60s. But both could work with Zik. If the Igbos have a problem today, they should trace it back to Zik.

And when Igbos call Hausa the slave masters of the Yoruba, I can only laugh. It is on record that the Hausa and Yoruba have never voted in similar fashion except in 2015. Just check history.

Zik accepted to serve under Balewa in 1960 and 1964. Ekweme accepted to serve under Shagari in 1979. Both Hausa and Igbo voted Shagari/Ekweme. In 1999, the Hausa and Igbo voted Obasanjo remember. So who really are the slaves here?

The summary of the police calculations in Nigeria was shown in 2011. The South united and voted in Jonathan. It means if the South unites, they will always defeat the North. The North always seems to be in charge because the South is hardly ever united.

Intelligent people like this, makes it worth coming here to read comments... Comments based on facts and clear cut examples....not all those hiding their low IQ's under insults.... Following You !

[b]1. It MUST BE ADMITTED that Awolowo DESTROYED THE POLITICAL FOUNDATION to make Nigeria a Constitutional Democracy, where Citizens can vote, and be voted for, and no Nigerian is considered a SETTLER anywhere in Nigeria. That FOUNDATION has been destroyed, almost irreparably. Every Nigerian, has since that day, become a SETTLER, anywhere outside his/her home town, defined as where his ancestors hailed from.
2. Then Zik asked the man representing Onitsha to resign, so that he Zik could contest a bye-election and enter the Eastern House of Assembly. This was done.
3. Zik also asked the Premier of Eastern Region, Eyo Ita, to step down, not resign, because he Eyo Ita would still be Member of the Eastern House, and REMAIN PROMINENT in the Leadership of Eastern Nigeria.
3. Zik then became Premier of Eastern Region.
4. As Premier, Zik sustained his political leadership to continue asking the Colonial Authorities to grant Independence to Nigeria.
5 Eyo Ita remained so prominent in Eastern Nigeria that he was among the Biafran Leaders that followed Ojukwu into exile, when Biafra was CRUSHED by UK, USA, RUSSIA, EGYPT, CHAD, NIGER, Obasanjo, and TY Danjuma, who is given the best Oil Field in Nigeria for his efforts.

Military regimes adopted ZIKISM, by appointing Governors outside their states of origin, in order to foster the integrative oneness that Awolowo had DESTROYED.

Was the Era in question a military regime?

No. Military Regimes followed, and were doing their best to keep Nigeria one cohesive nation.

How did Awolowo destroy the foundation when the house of assembly voted for him over an Eastern man in a Western region? You definitely need brain implant!
Bunch of selfish greedy folks!

The alternative would have been a prolonged war with far higher causalities.

That has always been their way. They secured their homeland against intruders but will shout tribalism and hate if you try to deal them with the same card.
It's a worn out rhetoric and narrative though. wink

Awolowo's policies are:
1. Vice-Chancellors must be indigenous natives, not the best Prof that can drive and sustain scholarship and research.
2. Only indigenous natives can contest elections.
3. That's why people of Zaria stopped Yakubu Gowon from contesting in 1991 under SDP.
4. That's the cause of mayhem in Jos North when Hausa/Fulani contested Local Govt Chairmanship in 2001.

This legacy has ruined many universities in Nigeria, and sustains corruption in political leadership.
The legacies of Awolowo.

Is ONE NIGERIA only for revenues allocation?

We're discussing recent recorded history. You can verify from Prof Wole Soyinka, who was already a graduate when these events took place. Chief Richard Akinjide was even part of the political process. If you have the resources, it won't be difficult to find out what Adegoke Adelabu was writing in those days. Shehu Shagari is still alive and strong. So is Maitama Sule. Fani-Kayode can obviously speak for his father. There're many more. It's not about shouting abuses.

I'm not an apostle of ONE NIGERIA, I'm an apostle of UNITY IN DIVERSITY. Even with all of diversity, we can make the nations a country.

ONE NIGERIA is a post civil war rhetoric.

The kind of unity in diversity Nigeria was practicing before the night of Jan 1966 when drunken marauders set the nation backward.

Like the regional autonomy, constitutionally granted to the states. That would be great.

Of course , zik is a complete patriot...........as the president of the Igbo state Union.

Zik's speech at the 1st anniversary of this wholly tribal organisation in 1948 leaves no one in doubt as to where his undiluted loyalty, truly lies.

Three years later, this same Igbo patriot, adorned in a fake garb of mr nationalist attempted to head the affairs of his main rival.
