Edo State People Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Samson Ekhabafe is dead.

He died in an accident on the Benin-Auchi-Abuja road on Sunday along with his son, police orderly and three others.

All of them were given a mass burial at the scene by men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) as they were burnt beyond recognition.

Ekhabafe's relations who had been trying to reach him since Sunday on his cell phone without success on learning about the accident went to the scene where they found his Hilux Sport Uitility Vehicle (SUV).

Arrangements were being made to exhume the bodies for proper burial.

Ekhabaje was Commissioner for Water Resources under former Governor Oserhiemen Osunbor.

Most of his counterparts will advise the governor to share the allocation meant for roads. I wouldnt be surprised if he gave this kind of advice to Igbenedion and Osumbo.

May their souls rest in peace if they are supposed to.

n another development, 17 persons were on Sunday killed on the Lagos-Benin Expressway when a Toyota Hiace commuter bus plunged into Aden River near Okada Town in Edo State.

This is coming barely 48 hours after 60 persons were similarly roasted inside a luxury bus on Benin-Auchi-Abuja Expressway.

The Late Chief Samson Ekhabafe was an Anenih faction PDP State Chairman.Enthroned by appointment (no elected) after resigning as the Commissioner for Water and Energy to assume the faction chairmanship position.

Ekhabafe served as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state from 1999 to 2007. He was appointed the Commissioner for Energy and Water Resources before he resigned from the cabinet of Governor Oserheimen Osunbor.

Shortly after resigning from the Osunbor cabinet, he was appointed chairman of the PDP faction led by Chief Tony Anenih as against Edward Sado, who was elected by the Samuel Ogbemudia/Mike Akhigbe faction of the party.

Sado challenged the action in the court. The case was still on when he died.

At 29, Ekhabafe was the youngest commissioner in 1983 in the short-lived Second Republic Bendel State government of Samuel Ogbemudia, where he served as Commissioner for Special Duties.

there is one church programme that i like attending and most times, the pastor will tell us to pray like this; those who want us dead will replace us in the grave.
the late pdp idiot is one of those setting death trap for the innocent citizens of nigeria saving all the money for himself and generations unborn.
will he imagine in his widest dream of this kind of death and burial?
is it possible for all these top criminals to move in a car one day only for us to read about them in this manner.
well, am sure God is still in his throne and will surely see us through.
if he has people left in his family, they must learn to stay away from public funds.

it was a collsion between a trailer, a jeep and his hilux.
the road was in perfect condition.
reason for the accident, overspeed. PERIOD!

  Nope, the road is not ok, It's a Federal road long over due for dualization, but has been left in it's narrow state. The narrowness is what causes the accidents; whenever any vehicle tries overtaking, it goes head-on  with the vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Until that road is expanded, more souls would continue to rest in peace there. Anennih would weep and wish he dualized that road, cos his insatiable greed has taken the life of one of his "first 5"
