Demmocrats:

Imagine if this is airborne and gets to a city like Lagos, i really thank God for all his protection in this country even during the Ebola out break.

Get your facts right about the airborne part.

Report from the CDC states otherwise

Meanwhile please do we still have an information minister and minister for health in the country so?

Thank God for my Secondary Education at Citadel Int'l College, Ikare, Ondo State. I'm really proudof that school.
As at year 2000 while I was in SSS1, our biology teacher then did thought us about Ebola and Lassa Fever Virus.
I can't imagine now that most Nigerians are just being educated about the viruses.
Anyway, Its better late than never.
Pls correct it to be did teach. You cannot have two verbs to be in the PAST at the same time......What's the name of that your school again and where is located?

Hold..

Lassa fever was not discovered first in Nigeria in 2014, Benin.

It killed at least a student in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpima, Edo State back in 2009-2010.

However, this piece is nothing short of the info for the day.
Kudos.

The write up referred to Benin Republic not Benin City. Lassa fever was first recognized in Lassa, a town in the present Borno State in the 1960s.

Prevention is better and cheaper than cure. To present Lassa fever, sanitation and hygiene are the keys. Ensure your house is free of rats (of whatever specie) by engaging in adequate sanitation. Keep your food and water safe from rat droppings and urine by covering them properly. Don't eat leftovers of rats (because of poverty) this leads to a disease known as leptospirosis (another deadly rat-borne infection. When you notice dead rats around your house without killing them, take absolute care because fleas from the rats can bite and cause what is known as Plaque. Once again, the key word here is SANITATION. Keep your surroundings clean to push rats far from you. If you still have problems with rats, contact the nearest Environmental Health Officer in the Local government or state Ministry of Environment/ Health for deratisation and Fumigation. #Wolewole ni mi
