Which Class of youths will makeup the "Nigerian leaders of tomorrow" by Tochaigh: 12:40pm On Jan 13, 2016 |
Each arm of government since Obasanjo's regime has always touted the "the youths are the future of this country" and therefore, "we have to empower the youths" when issues youth-related is raised, especially on NTA back then, and currently also. This current administration took Promises to a whole new level, from increased NYSC allowance to N5000 stipend, all aimed at Empowering the youths. Anyway that's not the reason for this post. So the question is: "are the youths really the future of this country?" A very difficult question. Even though those below 30 today will eventually be political leaders tomorrow, is it when they (we) are 60 or even 70 as we have now. Whatever the case maybe, the reason for this short epistle is to ask "which class of youths will make up those leaders of tomorrow? Offspring of current politicians? Offsprings of the average hustling Nigerian parent? Use your likes to kindly vote below. |
