Story for the gods. How many companies do we have in the north that can absorb Engineers? Who will teach further mathematics, Physics etc to our young ones?
Thus is a reactive measure....not sustainable.

People that studied education should teach. Geology, surveying and architects are still available. Even people that studied math and physics.

NYSC is all about National Service. In some other countries, it's military training.

It may sound good but it's not workable.

Yes oh! Help me tell them! And this will help universities in opening more departments related to engineering courses! Like petroleum engineering in education, civil engineering in education... And so many more even mechanical engineering in education... They should be studied in four years! And they graduate, they will know that they are going to be teachers and if they want to be real professional engineers... They will have to study a post graduate course for such upgrade!

What about Doctors and Lawyers?

If this is implemented then it is a good step in the right direction as the theory we learn in sch is quite different from the real work environment. Whichever way Good Luck to my fellow Engineers. I wish during my NYSC years i was not posted to school i would av gathered more practical experience in my field of study rather than starting to build career after NYSC perharps would av been in one of those Multinationals . Anyways its all Good . God win

What about the sciences?
They should start posting Physics graduate to Research Institutes too. They should awaken the culture of conducting high level researches. That way we can start becoming self actualized

good development i must say, but coren should do something as regrds training engineers because we ware lagging far far behind as regards technology and not every engineer will get trainin from mega oil companies and industries

I think the NIGERIAN ASSOCIATION OF PETROLEUM EXPLORATION should as well make a move that all Geoscience graduates be posted to oil firms, not just collecting dues from students

The worst part is that I was even posted to one village where I can't even get access to places to learn the kind of skills I had in mind.
It's really a sigh of relief.

Finally, better late than never. I thought Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in a secondary school in Ekiti state. I was forced to become a teacher.

Nonesense they just woke up now, COREN is the most useless pro body in Nigeria

May God Punish all of them.... Na now e clear for una eye... After una don make me and my brothers suffer a waste of our Engineering degree in the name of teaching one useless secondary school..
