Seriake Dickson has received a certificate of return, following his victory at the governorship election in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Dickson, who ran as a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, winner of the supplementary election, which took place January 9th.

He received his certificate of return from the state INEC officer on Thursday as his supporters cheered him on.

Timipre Sylva, his main rival in the election and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress has said he would challenge the result of the election in court.

Sylva said INEC and the PDP worked in concert to rig the election in favour of the PDP adding that he had officially complained, prior to the election, that the present structure of INEC in the state would not conduct a credible election.

Still against the outcome of the election is the Transition Monitoring Group (TMG).Chairman of the group, Ibrahim Zikirullahi said observers’ reports show a high level of ballot box snatching, violence and intimidation of voters during the exercise.

The Chairman equally expressed his displeasure at the conduct of some security personnel during the election process
