President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said Nigeria under his leadership has made significant progress towards ending the Boko Haram insurgency since his assumption of office on May 29 last year.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President spoke at a meeting he with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki Moon, on the sidelines of the World Future Energy Summit holding in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Buhari said in collaboration with the Multinational Joint Task Force, the Nigerian Armed Forces have driven the terrorist group from Nigerian territory into “fall-back positions”.

“They (the insurgents) are currently not holding any territory today as we speak, ” the President reportedly told the UN scribe.

Buhari also told him that Nigeria will persistently pursue global action to reverse the drying up of Lake Chad and save the lives of those who depend on it for survival.

“With all due respect to our neighbours, Nigeria has been worst hit by the drying up of the Lake Chad and we are hoping that the global community will support the process of halting the drying up of the lake, ” he said.

Ok. This explanation is better than that "technically defeated" shit. But Baba, this wasn't the promise.. The promise was to chase them out of our land;Nigeria and not backward.. What if the regroup tomorrow and come back forward nko??

Nigerian Army will find it difficult to completely chase away bokoharam from Nigeria due to the very poor intelligence gathering among the NA and Joint task force... By now, they should have successfully planted moles among the camp of the bokoharam terrorists so as to know bout their hideouts as well as ppl they have in captives.. Once they can confirm this, then they can work on complete air raid of their location..

Now that there are no more bomb blasts to celebrate, you have converted it to another useless rant.

Nigeria will progress whether you like it or not
