Why does one always spit out after perceiving a terrible odor? Does it really relieve the odor or it's effect on the person that perceived it. Can someone more knowledgeable help explain this phenomenon? Mods kindly do the needful. |

Some people spit because they feel the smell entered their mouth. If they don't spit, the odour might reside in the mouth, and they might develop MOUTH ODOUR.  |
