if you think so, then explain to me

How can you be sure that the errors are in translation and not the true content.

And tell me.. According to the evidence so far, we can all agree that there are some "errors" in the bible.. mostly because there where two different contradictory accounts.. if they have where only one account, we never would have know and would have believed it even tho it might have been the wrong one..

my question now is how can we be sure that events that happened in the bible which happen to have only one person account are actually true..

PS. pls Don't start telling me stories of holy spirit will lead you and faith bla bla bla.. Give me a valid point.

Please, understand me rightly. I do not believe that there is any error in the bible. For the records, there are no errors in the bible. Not even a single one. But I did state that there are TRANSLATION errors in the ENGLISH bible.

There is one insignificant way to to find out if there are transcription errors in the bible. Learn the original language, both Greek and Hebrew, then study the original manuscript for yourself.

Please not e my use of the word transcription. Most bible accounts were dictated by the person who was inspired to state them. Most of dictators of the account were illiterates, they spoke as they were inspired, then some literate person wrote down there dictations. These people had no way to tell if there messages were accurately transcribed because they were illiterates that God only choose to use.

Note also my use of the word insignificant. I states that if after you may have learned the original languages and you found out that there were actually transcription errors, that also in itself is no sufficient enough to discredit the account in the transcription. Bible says "...out of the mouth of two or three witnesses... a word shall be established. God in his wisdom, knowing that humans due to their fallibility can make transcription errors, created an avenue such that several persons were inspired to dictate the same message, so that several transcribers can transcribe the message. By so doing, he gave us different versions of the same inspired utterance so that if for any reason any of the transcribers made a transcription error we can refer to other similar accounts for cross-checking, by so doing we can use the intelligence he gave us to capture or deduce the original message. The reason for multiple accounts of the same message is to make it possible to still accurately communicate the intended message irrespective of human failures resulting in transcription error. Now that is what I call divine wisdom.

So, to the person who is born again, the message remains perfectly communicated. But the scholars, the scientist, the historians and atheist. Continue to grope and stumble in darkness.

The bible say's " I lay in Zion a stone..." bible tell us that that stone is a stumbling block to the Greeks ( which were the scientist and philosophers) and the Jews ( which were the historians and scholars) , bible said that stone is however salvation to those that are destined for salvation.
Put succinctly, until you get born again, you will miss the divine message divinely communicated by God through the bible. You will have difficulty deciphering its content.

Friend, there are absolutely no errors in the bible. That book was divinely contrived to pass a message. The is why you must never read its content in isolation. They all work together to pass across one message- Jesus, the way, the truth, the life.

That is why bible tells its born again readers,"Study" to show yourself approved unto God." When you study the bible and you are opportune to understand it, you will realise that there are absolutely no errors, on contrary you will marvel at the genius of deity.
Please, when I say studying the bible, I do not mean reading just one King James Version. That is not study. For effective study, you must have made reference to at least nine different translations, you must have made reference to the original text, you must have studied some Greek and some Hebrew and you must have read the text in the original language either by using a Greak-english dictionary or Hebrew-english Dictionary or some other similar approach.
If you do that and you get to truly understand the bible you will be the last person in the world to say that there are errors in the bible because you would have gotten the divine message that the scientists, scholars, atheist and historians would never get.

Look at it like this: in my post, i made what some typographic, and possibly, spelling errors which some individual who does not understand our discourse will quickly point out ass errors, but to you my message to you remain preserved, well communicated and well understood.

If that indeed be the case, then inspite of what the ignorant nairaland passerby may say, I met my goal, I communicated my mind to you through some agency.

So, friend, if you really want to understand, the bible, you must be born-again. Will you like to be born again?

I mean the proper bibles o. Awesome God.

Has anyone seen any?

If yes please answer with proof.

God bless us all.

Point of correction- There is no mistake in the Bible rather you say translators.

The bible dosent have any form of mistake, for it is inspired by God. Any form of perceived mistake or contradiction is simply because you are yet to understand the it, contextually or otherwise, and you don't read the bible just like any other book, without the understanding that the holy spirit gives, it will seem dead to you and confusing.

my questions
1. the word holy spirit is it written in the hebrew bible boldly there i mean not the transcrption.....dont stress yourself it not there.....then how did the word holy spirit come to play.....and dont tell me holy spirit means dis or dar.....if holy spirit is the spirit of god dont you thinl it should be written in the hebrew bible

I have been a born again xtian for decades.I read the bible from cover to cover several times as a tenager.

I can confidently tell u that there are no errors whatsoever in the bible.Remember that the bible was not written in English.
Howrver, I do admit that there are a lot of tranlation errors in the english bible.
If you have ever read the introduction to bible translations the translators state that what they have presented is
the best they could based on their knowledge of the oruginal language.By so stating they were declaring that the translation cannot be said to be perfect.

The only reason why there are many translations of the English Bible is because efforts are constantly being made to get more accurate translation of the bible.

Perhaps the least accurate Engish translation of the bible is the King James Version.Ironically, it is the most widely read, most widely accepted and most widely bought version for many reasons are:
1.Its use of old english gives a sense of holiness and piety to readers and reciters.
2.It is perhaps the easiest to commit to memory.
3.It is has been around for so long and has the greatest following and consequent next-generation following
down the ages.

Shocking as it may seem, most modern translation if the Bible are more accurate than KJV.A few of the reason for this are as follows:
1.KJV was not translated from the original Greek and Hebrew version. It was translated from the Vulgate which was a latin version.
2.The oldest manuscripts of the bible were found by archeoligist in modern times.
3.Modern day translators of the bible to english have better understanding of the original languages in which the bible was written than their older generation counterparts.

4.Becuse of development in teaching and education modern day man has a (and he keeps developing) much more better approach to translation.

The bible is all of academic, scientific, history and spiritual book.

As an academic book it is studies by a great many scholars in a great many theogical schools and universuties.

As a scientific book it is being studied by various scientist who are mosty archeokigist.Scienrists and archeoligist have found its account quite revealing and accurate.

As an history book, historians continue pore over it.

As a spiritual book, BORN AGAIN christians read and study it.Please notice that I placec an emphasis on the word born again.

Because the bible is a spiritual book. It exist as a closed book.Only BORN AGAIN christians can understant it. Other categories of people like scholares, hisorisns, and scientist may be knowlegeable and pissible versed in it.They can never understand it unless they are born again.

Yes, you may be knowlegeble in it, yes you may be versed in it, but you will never understand it until you get born again.A typical example a person who was knowlegeble and versed in in but did not understand it was Nucodemus who was a pharisee.
Another example of someone of a person who was knowkegeable and versed in it bur did not understand it was Saul of Tarsus who was a lawyer. In fact, in Jesus's days, the pharisees, saduccees and scribes fell into.the said category.

Unbelievable as it may sound , Jesus's dusciples too fell into this category during his earthly days.

As would be expected, a great many people exist today who are knowlegrable in the bible, versed in it but do not understand it. They can be found both offline and online.

It is rather ironic thay these people who are knowlegeable, versed in but do not understand the bible are the ones who think they underand it them most. They are quite easy to identify because they are quick to argue about thr bible.

Having said all that a person who is not born again may get the rare oppirtunity to have a certain degree of understanding of the bible, but that occurs at the descretion if God.

A good case in point is the dedciple of Jesus. They all knew Jesus was the christ but the never really understood the import of that knowlege until one day when God revealled it meaning to peter.

In closing I will say that there are no errors in the bible but there are tranlation errors in English tranlations if the bible.
DO YOU CONFIRM THAT JESUS NEVER HEARD THE WORD BIBLE BEFORE HE DIED.

OLAJADON:

what are the contraditions post them here if not then you are confused

They are all over the internet. Google is your friend.

Here is one, however:

Referring to the battle of Badr:

"[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, "Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another." (Quran 8:9)

"[Remember] when you said to the believers, "Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down?" (Quran 3:124)

Is it 3000 or 1000? Muhammad is mistaken here.

And no, I am not confused; I've read the entire Quran, thousands of hadith, much of the sirat, and a fair amount of the tafsir ibn Kathir. There is nothing about the Quran that is remotely miraculous.

Your logic in both points is funny to say the least.
Have you ever seen the Hebrew version of the bible in its original scroll and where it didn't mention the holy spirit? What's even the your point about the holy spirit and the Hebrew bible?
The bible is a connotative word used to describe the word of God.

.Who brought Joseph to Egypt?

The Ishmaelites bought Joseph and then took Joseph to Egypt (Genesis 37:28)
The Midianites had sold him in Egypt (Genesis 37:36)
Joseph said to his brothers I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt (Genesis 45:4)

Does God change his mind?

Yes. The word of the Lord came to Samuel: I repent that I have made Saul King... (I Samuel 15:10 to 11)
No. God will not lie or repent; for he is not a man, that he should repent (I Samuel 15:29)
Yes. And the Lord repented that he had made Saul King over Israel (I Samuel 15:35). Notice that the above three quotes are all from the same chapter of the same book! In addition, the Bible shows that God repented on several other occasions:

i. The Lord was sorry that he made man (Genesis 6:6)

I am sorry that I have made them (Genesis 6:7)

ii. And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do to his people (Exodus 32:14).

iii. (Lots of other such references).

The Bible says that for each miracle Moses and Aaron demonstrated the magicians did the same by their secret arts. Then comes the following feat:

Moses and Aaron converted all the available water into blood (Exodus 7:20-21)
The magicians did the same (Exodus 7:22). This is impossible, since there would have been no water left to convert into blood.

Who killed Goliath?

David (I Samuel 17:23, 50)
Elhanan (2 Samuel 21:19)

Who killed Saul?

Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.... Thus Saul died... (I Samuel 31:4-6)
An Amalekite slew him (2 Samuel 1:1- 16)

Does every man sin?

Yes. There is no man who does not sin (I Kings 8:46; see also 2 Chronicles 6:36; Proverbs 20:9; Ecclesiastes 7:20; and I John 1:810)
No. True Christians cannot possibly sin, because they are the children of God. Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God.. (I John 5:1). We should be called children of God; and so we are (I John 3: 1). He who loves is born of God (I John 4:7). No one born of God commits sin; for Gods nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God (I John 3:9). But, then again, Yes! If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (I John 1:cool

Who will bear whose burden?

Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2)
Each man will have to bear his own load (Galatians 6:5)

How many disciples did Jesus appear to after his resurrection?

Twelve (I Corinthians 15:5)
Eleven (Matthew 27:3-5 and Acts 1:9-26, see also Matthew 28:16; Mark 16:14 footnote; Luke 24:9; Luke 24:3 3)

Where was Jesus three days after his baptism?

After his baptism, the spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days ... (Mark 1:12-13)
Next day after the baptism, Jesus selected two disciples. Second day: Jesus went to Galilee - two more disciples. Third day: Jesus was at a wedding feast in Cana in Galilee (see John 1:35; 1:43; 2:1-11)

Was baby Jesus life threatened in Jerusalem?

Yes, so Joseph fled with him to Egypt and stayed there until Herod died (Matthew 2:13 23)
No. The family fled nowhere. They calmly presented the child at the Jerusalem temple according to the Jewish customs and returned to Galilee (Luke 2:21-40)
