What of the uncompleted church gate twin-buildings in Abuja, UBA building in Lagos? Anyway, compared to towers in Taiwei, New York, Sydney, Geneva, Dubai (Burj Khalifa), etc. Nigeria still have a long way to go |

You can only find buildings like these in a particular tribe. That other tribe trying to secede is not yet mature for such. 3 Likes |

Point of correction: To determine a height of a building is not the number of floor rather the meter above the sea level, factors involved is the head room. years of completion. #takenote #TeamThinkForMe 1 Like |

Most if not all are situated in my home state of Lasgidi. The one i will never forget is Great Nigeria House in Martins street in Lagos Island. The spot where it occupies now was my mother's first shop in 1980-82 and i was very much around when it was being constructed by Borgues limited. I actually enjoyed watching the way those white men dug the ground for more than a year encountering different waters, sands and gems before finally starting to build. They would hoot in estacy whenever they dug out something great and my mom and the other traders would call them drunk oyinbos bcs we had no idea what it was they dug up What i loved most was i was almost the baby pet of those white men especially when they finished workin in the evening bcs they would give me chocolate or sweets and pull my big cheeks playfully. One oyinbo used to come to work with his very big and lion-like dog called Jimmy which scared all the traders except me, and the traders named the oyinbo ' Baba Jimmy' bcs they couldnt pronounce his french name lol I also remeber NET building now called NITEL when it got burnt in 1983 and people were jumping to their deaths. It was pathetic and tragic Other high rise buildings that i know and witnessed their construction are: LSDPC house on Nnamdi Azikwe street and Elephant House in Marina because of its closeness to my primary school in Elegbaata and we showed those oyinbos pepper bcs we used to go to that site to take small marbles, for what, i still dont understand but while the black construction workers chased us with cane, the white workers will encourage us to take the small marbles bcs we would lie that we use them as counters in mathematic and arithmetic. But later we would throw them away and go there another time to pick marbles to build our own'small houses" lol Such fond memories. Then we had few atounriwa and it was very peaceful in Lagos Anyway eko o ni baje oo 20 Likes 1 Share |

All this in the South West? What's wrong with Nigeria government and their one side miss rule, S. East needs a least 2 or three of such buildings. |

I expect people to start bashing Lagos as if the state is somehow to blame for the number of high rise buildings it has. |
