Do you want to become a super STATISTICS student?

Here’s how!
It is quite unfortunate that most students ( Statistics and non-statistics) do
fall into the trap of believing that Statistics is all about calculations and
formulas.

Here are 5 tips that will go a long way in boosting your grades in
STATISTICS courses. Enjoy it!

1. Don’t feel the need to cram as much as possible on a page of notes.
Leave plenty of rooms so that you can write your own comments when you
use your notes to study.

2. Study your lecturers. Some lecturers, unfortunately, want you to cram
those lengthy formulas word for word, but some don’t. A lecturer like me
will only be interested in the core application of the taught concept. period!
The rule is to give to caesar what to belongs to caesar.

3. Never assume to have understood the process of solving a proof or
memorizing a formulae. I am as well guilty of this. My experience has shown
that mathematical proofs and formula applications require writing them
down over and over again in personal notes to guarantee a 100% or at least
90% chance of putting them down correctly in the exam.

4. Statistics is by far the simplest course. I am not saying this because I
find it easy. It is simple because I have had to take it that way from day
one whether or not I indeed found it easy.

5. This last tip might seem appropriate only for the weak students, but I for
sure know it worked well for me in some courses and I still end up having a
70% score. The tip is: Do not feel the need to know every concept
introduced by the lecturer, especially those that require a great deal of
cramming ability. It is better to master the few concepts that you have put
so much energy to understand than to want to know everything and end up
not getting anything. Believe me sincerely, it works like magic and it has
worked for me 10 out of 15 times.
I am yours sincerely, Lateef Amusa. Hoping to receive your views and
comments.
