The current Cadillac One debuted in 2009. It’s based on the Cadillac DTS, but has parts from other Cadillacs including Escalade headights and STS taillights. Its chasis and drivetrain were taken from the Chevrolet Kodiak commercial truck, giving the vehicle a total weight of roughly 2.5 tons.

The security features of the POTUS limo include nightvision cameras, pump-action shotguns, kevlar reinforced tires, ceramic armor capable of resisting most armor-piercing bullets, a supply of the President’s blood should he need an immediate transplant and even a gas tank filled with a special kind of foam that won’t let it explode if hit with a projectile

The doors are 8 inches thick, making them weight as much as the cabin door of a Boeing 757. The only window that can be rolled down is the driver’s. Even then it’s only by a few inches so they can pay a toll or talk to Secret Service agents nearby.

The rear section sits four people and is separated from the driver by a glass partition that only the POTUS can lower. There’s also a foldaway desk, a laptop with wi-fi and a satellite phone with direct lines to the Vice Pesident and the Pentagon

Riding around in a limousine that’s pretty much a tank has its downsides, namely maneuverability. To President Obama’s embarrassment, the car took a long time to park at the 10 Downing Street in London, the Prime Minister’s residence, during a visit to England in 2009. It also got stuck on a ramp in Dublin, Ireland during a 2011 visit.
