alwelldinho:Desperate politician? A man whose mandate was stolen follows due process to get it back and you call that desperation? Well ur right I think we need more of those. Even if you are Ngwa, do you really want to tell me that those 3 local government areas were not rigged? I live in Obingwa for crying out loud.. You are not allowed to vote if you are gonna vote Otti.. Well I don't really care who wins but it's only a heartless fellow that will say that OVI won 5 Likes 1 Share |

Make una speculate finish, Okezie Ikpeazu is the man i stand for, whether he loses or wins, but am so must positive, that he wil win, Supreme Court never fail to pronounce good judgment, Soon Alex will be probed by Mr buhari, in his involvement in distribution of cash to corrupt Nigerian, wen he was a bank Manger mark my words. You need to stop being silly, how did Otti distribute fund to corrupt Nigerians? Was Otti not the MD of Diamond bank? Do State governors not collect loan from banks?Do u want to tell me that a bank MD does not have d right to give loan to governors? Are banks not there to do business? Is the MD of a bank responsible for what the governors use the loan for? Did Ikpeazu not collect loan from bank when he assumed office? Mr man stop accusing people falsely ok. 1 Like |

The supreme court panel of judges have made it clear that they have vividly studied the briefs and arguments of all respondents in the suit. It is obvious that the Akwa Ibom case is not relied on the card reader as this was not the basis for the verdictsof the Tribunal and Appeal court. With the adoption of briefs by all repondents and looking at the body language of the panel of judges, its obvious that there will be a re-run in Akwa Ibom state. As for Abia state, Alex Otti will carry the day as the supreme court panel of judges have adopted the arguments of his counsel. However lets wait for final judgement. 4 Likes |

Performance Anxiety. For all those saying Ikpeazu must win because he is a 'performer' and all the ish, I urge you to note that this is about a mandate giving by the people and has nothing to do with whether someone later started 'performing'. In any event, I wonder if Ikpeazu will perform more than Dr. Chris Ngige who spent almost 3 years in Anambra Govt House but was eventually sent out by the Court of Appeal despite his 'performance'. Peter Obi who replaced him was no less a performer eventually. 3 Likes |

The Court rises to return very shortly. They announce that Judgment in all the Appeals already heard by them will be given later today. There are still about three other Appeals from Akwa Ibom which have not been heard. They are likely to start from those when they return Abia Appeals still loading.......... |

Re: Abia Governorship Election Supreme Court Hearing & Possible Judgment by nwadiuko1(m): 1:23pm On Feb 03, 2016 |
in order to actually have an unbiased grasp of what really happened during the elections in Abia...., we need to know the voting pattern/ strength of the state, We have to understand what is happening from the historical perspective of Abia State politics. Abia is divided into two distinct blocs - the old Bende Division and the old Aba Division. The old Bende Division has eight local government areas and the old Aba Division has nine. Abia North is exclusively old Bende, Abia South is exclusively old Aba; and then in Abia Central, we have three local government areas from each of the two divisions. This is the composition of Abia State. Starting from the First Republic, Dr M. I. Okpara, Premier of Eastern Region, was from old Bende Division and when you come to the period of the military rule, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, Major General Ike Nwachukwu, Amadi Ikweche, Admiral Chijioke Kaja, Navy Captain Osondu were all from old Bende. Also, the first civilian governor of Abia State, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, is from old Bende, before the creation of Ebonyi State, when his community became part of today’s Ebonyi State. Civilian governors The remaining former civilian governors, Orji Uzor Kalu and Theodore Ahamefule Orji, were also both from old Bende though under the current political division, Kalu is from Abia North while Orji is from Abia Central. So, this has been the issue. No Ngwa person had governed the state. All they have produced since the days of the late Chief Sam Onunaka Mbakwe of old Imo State were deputy governors. The two deputy governors that Mbakwe had, Dr Agbalaha and Chief Paul Uzoigwe, were all from Ngwa land. It is as if the rest of the state is saying that the old Aba cannot produce the governor of the state. So, Abians came together and felt that it is fair that the current governor of Abia State should come from Ngwa land, from old Aba Division, especially from Abia South, or if you like, from Ukwa Ngwa. This is based on rotation. During the last election, practically all the political parties chose their governorship candidates from Abia South as a sign that everyone accepts the need for fairness based on rotation. So, for the first time they had the chance and they voted overwhelmingly for their son. So, for someone to say suddenly that this thing they have been dreaming of and got is no longer so is unacceptable, to them. This is part of the tension, especially because they were or about to be denied this opportunity. Obingwa, the local government area of origin of the governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, and the two neighbouring LGAs, Isialangwa North and Osisioma, which is his natural base, the votes of these three local government areas, which favoured him overwhelmingly, were totally cancelled by the Court of Appeal. This means that Ikpeazu, his wife, family and relatives did not vote for him. Another issue here is the voting pattern of Abia State. We all know that to win a governorship election in Abia State, you must win Obingwa and Bende. Otti won in Bende and Ikpeazu won overwhelmingly in Obingwa, his local government of origin, only for the court to cancel it, in addition to Osisioma and Isialangwa North. Now, when you look at the voting strength of these three LGAs, it is one-third of the entire voting strength of Abia State. So, there is nowhere A or B can win Abia governorship election without the result of one-third of the state’s voting strength.........let justice prevail!! 5 Likes |

nwadiuko1: cut the long story short... apart from Uzor kalu and T.A orji, any other person you mentioned were not part of democratic dispensation so you can't call them old Bende. Secondly, if it's your turn, can you prove to me that we never had candidates of Ngwa extraction vieing for the same position in the past?.. that means there was a level playing ground every one to compete? and if it's there turn,is it T.A orji prerogative to determine who becomes the candidate so that he doesn't eventually get probed for misdeeds? |
