You might have read similar thread about finding your lost android phone but I will explain how to remotetly do some action on your lost android phone without downloading any app. This is not the best tracking method but you might find it useful .

The android device manager can Ring a lost phone , Lock and Erase the phone, It also show the model of the missing phone , here is how.


** log on to the android device manager through this link on any browser https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager , the gmail and password on the phone in question is needed .

** After a successful log in , you can choose to ring , lock or erase the phone any where .

** To ring the phone , select ring and within five minute or ealier , depending on how fast your internet is , the lost phone will be triggered . the good thing about this is that , if you leave your phone in silent mode , android device manager will deactivate the silent mode and Ring the phone.

** locking the phone .select lock phone on android device manager , you will be taken to a page where you are to supply a new password different from your gmail password , you have the opportunity to type a message that will be displayed on the phone at the other end . for example , please call this number 08136591541. The phone will be lock and the message "please call this number 08136591541 will keep displaying on the missing phone.


** you can erase the phone by selecting erase on the android device manager , selecting this option will automatically factory reset your lost phone . this option is very important when you have vital information that should not be seen just by anyone .

Note: To remotetly control the missing phone , the phone must be sign in to a gmail account and you must remember the password of that account .
the phone should be connected to the internet .there must be a data connection on the phone to effect these three action . you can experiment this on your phone , do not select erase phone as you will automatically lost all your information .

If your GPS is switched ON on the missing phone , android device manager can tell the area where the phone is as at that time but you can not get the exact coordinate of the phone .
