Kindly permit me to raise this issue of Post Ume in moslty all our tertiary institutions, even though I have red related topics concerning it before. Initially admission into any Nigerian University is vested on Jamb but nowadays the reverse is the case. Then definitely if there is a problem surely there must be the cause of the problem. Our tertiary institutions are complaining that Jamb is no more qualified to conduct a malpractices free examination because many candidates who scored very high marks in Jamb are not qualified to get admission into their universities. To me I think the excuse resonable because it happens. This is a problem that has to be solved and which brought the conduction of Post UME screening.Truely this might give more damage to our educational System and which will be giving this a nation a bad in the outside world as far education in concerned. Can someone tell me if it is through Post JAmb that credible candidates can be admitted or discovered? What can we translate the issue of 1st or 2nd choices to? A situation whereby a university will say any candidate who does not choose them as first choice should forget it or if a candidate doesnt make his/her result at one sitting he or she should forget it and even those university that accepts second choice option always set a special plan for them (you should understand what I mean).All these, can we say is in the interest of getting credible and brilliant candiates?. My own suggestions is that if Jamb should continue to conduct examination for candidates for prospective candidates, then Jamb should not give option for universities choices either 2nd or 1st, then when the result is out, all those who have scored may be 200 and above then you can go to any number of institutions of their choice to purchase their post jamb form, which means all candidates will have better chances of gaining admission in that particular year. Please send your view on this topic coz its killing prospectives students potential.
