Many of you folks need to think before you type. I do not believe he was making that statement to show off or make you think he cares more about how much he is loosing by choosing to serve Nigeria. My thought is that he was likely trying to let people realize that everything is not about money and there are times you would need to make such sacrifice.

About whether he was telling the truth or not, he is surely right. To work at that management level for a multinational oil & gas firm, he was surely earning in the 6 digits. If you combine that with bonuses, stock earning, and other allowance, he would be earning a huge amount per annum. Consider this, I used to work in a very technical PhD level position with an oil firm in North America, and my total package per annum was close to $200k. Then I used to wonder how much my director and our group manager wold be earning if I was earning that much. Now, here we are talking about a vice president a regional division of an oil firm. Am sure any time his group meet or surpasses their goals he would be rewarded for that...and that's extra income. So, for those saying he was lieing, try to educate yourself. Use Google.

This is amazing. Tequilah is thinking. This is rare for a Nigerian. Just like he said, in a normal society your income is known especially if you are holding a public office. Even Obama does not have a choice in the matter. The IRS knows what every single American makes so no one can hide. We have people in Nigeria making and spending money anyhow they see fit which is one of the reasons corruption is so rampant. Nice one Tequilah.

What's so hard to believe? In the place I work (bank), my overall boss in my department earns N60M yearly (aside other benefits) and he's not even an Executive Director. Remember, he was the Vice President of West Africa. Haba fa!!!
